	<span style="font-size:20px;"><strong><span style="color:#8e7743;">Norrvägen</span><span style="color:#000000;"> is modification is dedicated to one of the most interesting parts of the World in terms of history - Scandinavia.</span></strong></span>

	<span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="color:#000000;">Norrvägen will give you the opportunity to plunge into Scandinavian history, feel like one of the founders of the Viking Age and be the ruler of any existing state in Scandinavia at different times. It is planned to create at least 20 scenarios of different scales, whether it is the entire map, strewn with tribes and clans, or local conflicts, seasoned with events. Well, a few alternatives do not hurt.</span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:20px;"><span style="color:#000000;">The main feature of the mod is a new map, currently consisting of 2261 provinces. The map province template was created by me personally, drawn by hand based on data from various historical sources, and includes a fairly accurate historical and modern administrative division.<br />
	From the images below, you can see that the map includes not only Scandinavia, but also Britain, the Northern parts of Russia and Germany, as well as part of the Baltic States. These lands were added for historicity. For example, England and Baltica are present for the reason that the Vikings often organized campaigns in England and the Baltic States, which seriously affected the history of these peoples.<br />
	In addition to the typical work on the map, I will create an atmospheric soundtrack, thematic interface, and other nice "accessories" to the mod.</span></span>

	Remember when Megamod existed? Do you also remember when there was this era of combining AoH2 mods together to make absolute amalgamations? Well I have been working on a project and it is called:<br />

</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	This mod combines many mods across the AoH2 community (including Russian mods and a couple of Chinese mods) and it shall be one of the largest AoH2 mods of all time. The concept came from my previous combination projects and also how influential Megamod was before that collapsed. This includes NWR, Sieg Redux, World Ablaze, World Crisis, QBAM and many, many others!

	<span style="color:#c0392b;"><u>Are there any issues with the mod?</u></span>
</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	There are a few problems with the mod though and it is that a port of the mod to the smaller screens won't be available due to the file integer limit so it is only exclusively on PCs unless if someone finds a way to port the mod. There are also many bugs in the mod as I'm typing this and because of my personal life piloting when I can mod, it will take quite a long time to get everything to function properly. I do assure you that quite a few of the civilizations may have flags in the wrong ideologies or have no available tags and because I have a separate career to turn to, just feel free to make community additions to it. Do whatever you want, whether it is crazy, experimental or just some simple flags; it is your choice.

	soooo it's been a while since I've been here,, age of history III and a remastered version of the second game got released, but I'm not super satisfied with those two,, i feel like both of those try too much and accomplish very little,, so watch me do the same thing!!!

	I've already posted a version of this mod before,, but TLDR, AoCII+Cats is a personal mod project i have, which adds a bunch of things that i think make the game more engaging; the first version was just very general changes that didn't really touch the game's code, but I've actually worked on a 1.1 and a 1.2, which actually do touch the game's code a bunch.

From the renewed map of Post Napoleonic Europe, to the fairly recent Latin American republics, and from the Great Plains of the Midwest North America, to the princely states of India. A world full of possibilities, situated just at the dawn of a new era, with the rise of nationalism, colonization and new political ideologies.</span></strong></span>

	<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><span lang="en-us" xml:lang="en-us">The difference between this version, and the previous one I made in the “scenarios” category (and the Conqueror’s scenario too), is that now (after some decisions here and there), we decided to include more content to the mod (we also won’t be using Addon+ as the base of the mod this time).</span></strong></span>

	<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><span lang="en-us" xml:lang="en-us">The bigger difference to the original would also be the inclusion of a “revamped” version of the map, where, instead of creating a totally new one, this one will be based off the vanilla one, but with a lot of modified provinces (so the borders of the 19<sup>th</sup> and early 20<sup>th</sup> century were possible to represent).</span></strong></span>

	For those who don't know, there is a mod for Hearts of Iron IV named Mappa Mundi which adds 21000 provinces and turns the game into a canvas. This mod takes the bitmap of the mod and adapts it to AoH2's engine and I have done that using the AoM modding tool.
</p>

<p>
	Admittedly, the provinces are messy, there are many very tiny provinces and there are a few that can't be clicked but overall this is a significant milestone. Make sure to also launch the jar file from command prompt.
</p>

<p>
	For now, the mod would only have the map and the base civilizations in order to let you guys experiment with the map's capabilities and also there is only 2 really WIP scenarios.
</p>

	(also it is up to the community to fix and improve the mod, I'm not that good at modding anyways lol. Feel free to add your own stuff into it if you want to make high-fidelity maps).

	For years, we have been creating scenarios and events restricted to static images. We add a picture of a war, and it just sits there. A picture of a nuclear explosion? Static. <strong>But not anymore.</strong><br />

	I have been digging into the source code and I realized something crucial: <strong>Age of History 2 runs on LibGDX.</strong>
</p>

<p>
	Why does this matter? Because LibGDX <strong>natively supports complex animations</strong> via <u>TextureAtlas</u> and <u>Animation</u> classes. The code was always there, sleeping inside the game engine, just waiting for someone to wake it up.<br />

	<strong>I have successfully implemented fully animated, looping events without breaking the original game compatibility.</strong><br />

	<span style="font-size:26px;"><strong><span class="ipsEmoji">🚀</span> What I Achieved</strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	I modified the<strong> <u>Menu_InGame_Event.java</u> class. </strong>The logic is simple<strong> but powerful:</strong>
</p>

		When the game tries to load an event picture (e.g., <u>war.png</u>), my code first checks if a <u>.atlas</u> file exists with that name (e.g., <u>war.atlas</u>).
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>If it exists: </strong>It ignores the static image and loads the SpriteSheet using the Atlas, creating a smooth loop animation.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>If it doesn't exist: </strong>It falls back to the default code, loading the static <u>.png</u> or <u>.jpg</u> just like the vanilla game.
	</li>

	This mod I present is a mod based around the times starting from 5000 BC and the hellenic ages till the collapse of Western Rome. (Unfinished)<br />

	The map I will be using is the Blue marble map and it will be around 10481 in Width, and 4041 in Height. It will only include Africa-Asia, And europe. Sadly, not alot of the north. This will be my biggest creation yet. And filling it out will be a pain. I just hope people will enjoy this mod.<br />

	Anyone wondering about my old post: I decided to scale this map in particular back immensely because I feel that if it were to actually be a full globe map it could cause extreme lag even on powerful devices, so I have decided to make a seperate map which will be larger for the full globe, and keep this current map as a map for former territories of the western roman empire/roman empire. It is also a good test bed for future projects of mine, and to improve on my modding in general.
