    A Chaotic Modern Day

so, i have this copy of the "Modern Day" scenario on the Aoc2 mod Addon+.(which you need for this scenario when it releases) i will allow anyone to suggest what changes i should make to the map. so, basically, what i am saying is that i am making a scenario where anyone can change the map. the scenario will be done when the map looks completely diffrent from the original map. a list of things you can change to the map: 1. a new country being formed 2. an entire country collapsing (splitting into smaller countries, you can say which countries it will be split into) 3. a change in a country's ideology 4. a country fully or partially annexing another country (has to be a neighboring country and has to be smaller, example: Finland can annex a small part of Russia, but not all of it. A country can also annex another country if it was historically a part of it.) 5. a country becoming a puppet of another country 6. the creation or destruction of an alliance 7. a civil war 8. unification of 2 or more countries What the world currently looks like:

Courtesy of creator of Bloody Europe II map... Thank you! I've been making this by myself on my android. Most of the civilizations, especially the tribes, but also many Greek and Etruscan city states, I had to make on my own. I'm working on adding the ancient Irish tribes (Hibernia), splitting Illyria into more accurate tribes, and I'm working on tons of events. Some of these include: The Macedonian conquest and subsequent partition (into Ptolemy, Seleucid, etc.) Rise of Parthia The Hunnic invasions Somehow simulating Germanic displacement of continental Celts without making playing as one of them practically impossible migration of Slavs Muslim invasions Most ambitiously, slowly transition each tribe into medieval kingdoms (Herules to Denmark, Swedes to Svealand, Gaulic kingdom unity, Britonic kingdom unity, etc.) However, there are still many problems I am facing. First, the timeline moves too quickly before 500 A.D. At first even at game speed 50% about 1-3 years pass each turn. yet once 500 A.D. is reached, it shifts to about 5 turns per year. That is absurd as it takes only 500 turns to go from 600 B.C. to 0 (Not nearly enough time for the AI to conquer and grow. Rome for example only starts to unite the Italian peninsula at 200 A.D.) yet it takes about 200 turns to go from 500 A.D. to 530 A.D. This makes it very hard to make events based on dates and certain years. I have to consider whether to put an event on its historically accurate date or on the date the AI will reasonably be ready for it. I've seen others have the same problem, but there is this horrible bug that takes all of the tribes and maxes out their tech within the first 30 turns of the game. Considering most of the civilizations are tribes in this scenario, it has ruined games. The bug does not appear in AI only test runs, only when the game is actually being played. This might only be a problem for android, but the growth rate editor is broken. Why would I need to edit? The default growth rate is clearly to reflect the industrial output of early modern Europe, but that is very different from ancient Europe. For example, both the Rhineland and the Baltics, which should be extremely underdeveloped and forested regions, have higher growth rates than Gaul, which should be much more developed by comparison with trading towns, or even Italy or Greece. How is it broken? Every time I go to change it, it gets reset to the default. As a side note, the terrain editors are also broken in the same way. Last, this is mostly just an aesthetic worry, but adding cities is also broken, as in also immediately resets to default. Not a functional problem, but there is something frustrating about the capital of Babylon being Baghdad, or the capital of Carthage being Tunis. So I decided to reach out to the community for guidance. Also, when I am done I'd love to share it with all of you, but being on Android I don't know how.

    0.0 relations bug?

Hello friends! I have bug which sort of ruins the game. On about turn 4000 relations between nations started getting reset to 0.0. I end up with "Improve relations" not working at all (with rare exceptions) and most of the world being completely neutral (see pictures attached). Is there a patch/mod/way to fix this? Thanks. ====

If you work for modders, modders will work for you. A couple of new features would help advance the modding community: 1) An event overhaul to make it more flexible. Currently, the event editor is so bugged that text will quite simply run off the screen. Here's what would improve the event editor: Fixing obvious bugs (text running off the screen, conditions not working [Controlled by, army in province are examples of conditions not working], the 'decision taken' condition displaying an error message even when valid, et cetera). Fix the 'Repeatable' glitch: Even when the conditions for the event are not met, the event fires anyway. Properly implemented booleans on events would prevent this. Adding a search field (also known as a search box) so that modders are able to search for events and organise their events better (especially handy when the number of events exceeds 100). Adding an event that is applicable to multiple participants with the following fields: Random Civilisation: Selects a random country once the event fires. Multiple Civilisations: Actively checks and fires the event (once conditions are met) for all countries in the list. Any Civilisation: Actively checks and fires the event for any country in the game. (Would be great for flavour events to keep the game fresh). Every Civilisation: When any country meets the conditions necessary to fire the event, all countries will receive events. Adding a new effect that would allow for buildings to be built on provinces. Adding a new effect that would annex land to a civilisation regardless of the province owner/controller. 2) New editors for existing mechanics. This would open up brand new possibilities for modders. Building Editor: Enables for the creation and editing of buildings, and the various effects that they would give. Technology Editor: Enables for the creation and editing of technology, and the various effects that they would give. 3) New mechanics/features. Capability for multiple units. This would ideally come with an editor which could create new units and adjust such things as cost, manpower, manoeuvre, offence, and defence. These units do not need unit models. Simply place an icon to the left of the number to represent which unit they are. Culture/Religion. Culture or religion would go a lot farther than the current nationality system, allowing for more complex behaviour as well as a better assimilation mechanic. (Right now, you simply throw money at people to make them 'assimilate', cultures would need to be 'accepted' or 'tolerated'). Casus bellis. Also known as 'justifications for war', casus bellis would put an end to the mindless wars that the AI tends to do. These would also come as event effects, and causes for war could be edited by modders via a new editor, or a .json file. Casus bellis would significantly improve the AI, and do away with the current concept of 'AI Aggressivity'. Loading screens (Not necessary). Custom static loading screens are extremely easy to implement in Java. It requires fetching a raw image from a file and simply rendering it on top of the screen. These would make the game (as well as mods) look far more professional than it already does. 4) Steam Workshop. At the end of the day, mods need to be distributed somehow. And the best way for mods to reach a wider audience is through Steam Workshop. Combined with previous reforms (which should be relatively easy to do given that the core framework of the game is already implemented), mods of much higher quality than the ones we see right now would begin to appear. Conclusion: These changes to the game would completely overhaul the game for the better, revolutionising the way mods are made and drastically improving the quality of these mods. In the end, it's the modding community that makes games successful, and that applies to the realm of Grand Strategy as well. Players are looking for features, and only you can deliver on that. Work for modders, so that modders work for you.

So question. It says it has a keyboard for both English and Russian, but when I try to use the keyboard in the english language I get nothing but blank spaces. Is it because I use it in the English language or is it just a bug, because I noticed it was like that in 1.13 as well.

Age of Civilizations 2 — a great game that has a huge potential and a motley, large community. How many people have become her loyal fans, who are still waiting for updates on the game, which was released on November 22, 2018 quite raw and with a lot of bugs. Major updates or even simple bugfixes we have not seen, and the developer continues to ignore the messages of players and does not plan to develop his masterpiece. Łukasz, why did you start making a new game without finishing the old one? You have not yet completed your first, grandiose and large-scale project, updates for which are waiting for all the fans, but at the same time already strive to make a new game? Don't you realize that this very new project will be perceived by the audience with negative for the simple reason that you corny did not finish AOC 2? What do we players need? We want to see at least one update that will fix bugs, and in the best case-will introduce global innovations in the game, with new chips and mechanics. Łukasz, we, your loyal fans, will remember you as a wonderful developer, and the Creator of a large, and most importantly – a successful project, if you still do what we ask. Believe me, not every one of us wants to see a new project, while the existing one does not meet expectations and prospects. This can always be done later, you have a lot of time for new projects. First you need to bring to the ideal existing. After all, he really deserves it, and it will be better for everyone. Lukas, save AoC II. We will be especially happy and grateful if you respond to our spam-action, which we had to arrange to get your attention and response. Sincerely, dedicated players of your promising project.
