TimDee58 got a reaction from Victor in Surely Religion is an ideology?
if I'm right then can someone add religions to the appropriate list please?
    in other words...
'Christian County / Duchy / Earldom / Kingdom / Empire / City State'
'Muslim Emirate / Caliphate / Sultanate / City State' (I may have missed some steps?)
    and later on
    Catholic
    Protestant
    Orthodox
    Heretical
    and so on......
    Is this do-able?

I revise my earlier comment in the seemingly abandoned 990ad scenario......
THESE are by far the best series of scenario's I've seen....... I particularly enjoyed playing as Swabia in the 1180 ad scenario..... Managing to dominate the HRE so far for many years as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire despite only having 8 provinces under my direct rule!
(I call my house rules the 'Iron Throne' rules).

TimDee58 reacted to SUDAMXX in (TUTORIAL) How to Create a Flag for Your Nation With Photoshop
Hi, How are you? I'm going to teach you how to create a flag for your created nation
(REQUIREMENTS) Any Photoshop Version, I recommend CS6 or later versions,
First of all we create our nation in The game editor.
In Editor - Create A Civilization - Create New Civilization

    OK, Now
    We Create Our Civilization
The main thing is the name

In Where It Says NAME We Write The Name Of Our Nation In My Case Potato With Cheese

The Next Is The Color We Precised The Button That Tells Civilization Color, We Select The Main Color Of The Nation In My Case I Will Select The Orange Because My Nation Is A Potato xD

Now we select the service list option, the list of service are as achievements by conquered provinces, we have a few models, we select the model, and we choose the color, in my case orange and white

Ok The Flag No Ay That to Edit it Equals the Color that Has,
    And we keep the Nation

Now we can close the game,
Generally, the folder is on this route C:\Program Files (x86)\ Steam\steamapps\common\ Age Of Civillizations 2
At least Asi I enter the game folder, At least that's how I enter the game folder.

Ok Inside the folder called Age Of Civilizations 2, we enter the folder GAME

Once inside we look for the folder called civilizations_editor and enter it

A Data, Our newest Civilization Created Always Will be the last folder
We enter the folder and look for the last folder

We enter the last Folder and you will find 2 PNG Photos,

To verify that our nation is created Let's double click on one of the 2 photos
The flag must be the same as the default

If It Is The Same Flag We Select THE 2 PHOTOS AND We Send It To The Desk

    Now Open Photoshop
If they are good in Fotoshop they are edited alone, but as I am Manco Download a picture of a potato in Google for My Potato-Nation
The Measures Must Be IN PIXELS IS IMPORTANT
There are 2 Flags For That There Are Two Measures The Big One, 68 Wide, And 44 High, IN PIXELS

Then In Photoshop We Give It In, File - New, The Background Content Has To Be White, And We Added The Pixels, 68 Wide And 44 High, Here The Sample

Now We Select, File - Place

And We Search The Photo Or Edit Above The White,
When we place the image, we have to adjust it well

Once Placed We Precede The Enter Key,
It Will Be Blurred But In The Game It Will Be In 4K I Will Promise You 😉
Now Open the Option, File - Save, VERY IMPORTANT SAVE AS A PNG PHOTO IF NOT, WILL NOT DETECT THE PHOTO

We already have the first flag, if you put a photo, it is the same procedure to edit the small flag, (RECOGNIZE THAT YOU HAVE DIFFERENT PIXELS) If you edited the big flag well, When we created the workspace for the small flag we will place the big flag
Measurements of the Small Flag, 27 Wide, 18 High, IN PIXELS

And place the photo, or if the great flag is edited, we place the big flag.
In my case I will reposition the photo of the potato to have more quality

The small flag is more pixelated than the big one
And we keep the flag as a type of PNG photo

    I finish the difficult part
    It should be like that

We Copy The Name of the Original File

Now If we want Eliminate the Ancient Flag
Beware The Name Of The Big Original Banner It has to be stuck on the big flag created by us
And we paste in our new flag

We do the same procedure with the small flag.
Now we move our new flags to the folder that we opened before

    And we replaced

We Close Everything, And Enter Age Of Civilizations
And now we can add our new nation to our scenario or to some scenario of the game

    CONGRATULATIONS YOU CREATED YOUR FLAH

Sorry, I hadn't put an extra necessary step, you have to edit "Age of Civilizations.json" file in the "map" folder and add a new line called Folder: "ASOIAF". In the step 11 of the thread below you can see how to do it.

I'd like to see games where players start as a small local family, by conquest & diplomacy they could raise their family to Counts, Dukes, Kings, Emperor etc etc....
I'd like to see events where families / counties / duchies / kingdoms merge, split etc
I'd like to see the creation of both real life kingdoms AND 'potential Kingdoms', all having the potential for HRE type elections etc etc...
Where civil wars occur, rebellions too, where leaders can die heirless and b*stard (inferior relatives) bloodlines can inherit the throne....
Where vassalisation is important and NOT something to be sneered at
    Where schisms can occur
In fact, I'd like this to become a modern version of 'Empires of the Middle Ages' board game (by SSI?)....
The game does NOT need more troop types, after all it's 'Grand Strategy' where numbers matter, not quality....
THIS GAME IS SO CLOSE TO ACHIEVING ALL OF THIS!

Thanks Lukasz for your hard work

    I mean really...
A scenario / mod about an anime character? a GTA map? a war between games or consoles & even a made up story about 'this Italian Guy' (no offence)?
    WTF?
Give us History, Westeros, Middle Earth for sure..... Vikings (great), The Classical world for sure..... Ive not seen any sign of Assyria or Babylon yet either....
    OR
Give us scenarios that work and that you KNOW you intend to finish, no offence guys but really 90% of the scenarios are dross.
    COME ON PEOPLE
Guys this is a great system but can we please exercise some restraint?

That Mods / Scenarios should be archived if their author does not respond to members questions within say a 14 day period.
    Why?
Because the scenarios area is a mess, it's rammed full of incomplete scenarios or perhaps worse, scenarios that the author has abandoned without giving any notice....
    Perhaps split the forum into:
    Scenarios - Released / Completed.
    Scenarios - Work in Progress
    Scenarios - Abandoned
Can I have a 'Hell Yeah' please?

Hi, are any of these completed yet?
Do they have functioning events and Holy Roman Empire please (and REAL rulers from their time period instead of the appalling ones in the vanilla game - no offence Lucasz but I've had Maximillian I of Bavaria as my ruler now for more decades than a good diet & healthy lifestyle should allow, and I think he's Bavaria's default ruler in EVERY scenario I've played, these have spanned from 900AD to 1440AD - it's a little bit irritating lol)?
Also, please detail installation instructions for dummies like me.....

Before I start on this Mod i need to ask a few questions from experienced modders, I think that AoC2 has a lot of potential, do any of you forsee whether any of the following problems will be unworkable in the game?
I was always a big fan of a few board games that are crying out to be resurrected on the PC, these being Kingmaker, Empires of the Middle Ages and Blood Royale.
    So here is the outline....
1 - Instead of Immortal rulers (which seems to be the case in the game) why not just use the ruling families name instead in other words Wittelsbach instead of Maximillian II etc... no more immortal leader, merely a continuation of the ruling house?
2 - The colouring of regions, instead of the generic racial definitions why not mark areas that 'could' be united and players could dominate them (by achieving superiority in those regions) to form real countries (for example by owning all of the key areas in Britain you 'could' create the Kingdoms of England (or Scotland in the north / wales in the west etc) or even 'ahistorical potential kingdoms (like making a Burgundian kingdom with elements of France, Germany and the low countries).
3 - Taking into account points 1 & 2 the player states could be named after the ruling family or indeed the local areas they hold... so in effect England, at game start could be called (possibly bad examples) Northumbria under the Percy House, Lancaster (Plantagenets), York (also the Plantagenets, albeit a rival branch of the family) etc etc...
4 - Events - Dynastic unions, Leader dies heirless, famines, revolts, civil wars, etc etc
5 - Key areas could be placed that, upon capture grant new titles to the owner (all players could start as Counts, having taken say 3 or so areas become Dukes, and all of the key areas in a region King etc). So no more Monarchies, rather something else which it based n a real feudal pyramid of power.... Count, Duke, King, Emperor etc etc.
4 - For non christian (or competing types of christians, orthodox etc etc)areas the same could be applied using appropriate titles specific to those areas.
Of course in history many families owned lands in more than one region (kingdom) which would allow them to develop power bases across the globe (well Europe and the Middle east at least)
I'm reasonably certain that  the system will allow this, I just need confirmation.
    Related questions
Is there an upper limit to the number of states allowed?
Can the current flags be replaced with a shield icon? (not a deal breaker)
Lastly, can you add any suggestions please?
Also can anyone explain to me how the Holy Roman empire in the 1440 scenario works because I havent figured it out yet lol.

    Thanks for reading
