  1. Add Miltary Budgets to the Budget page Instead of a Miltary Upkeep, it would be Miltary Budget, which would be determine how much army units you can support. Also Miltary Technology, which you can fund to level up your army. Miltary Budget would determine how much army units you can support/ train. Now this would depend on each government but there would be minimums percent that is require to keep the peace. The trained units that comes from the Budget would be determined from how big the population is and what percent is the Miltary Budget. For example, if the total population is 250000, and the Miltary Budget is 15% You will be able to train a army of 18,750 I found this number by dividing the total population by half and times 15 percent. This is a Big Army but they can't be summoned automatically. They will need time to build up to it and would take about 10 turns before being fully mobilized. So about 2000 units a turn. The rate can change based off any new building to increase the units per turn. The Catch Moving these armies would cost more if they aren't in friendly area The smaller the cheaper they are to move. If for any reason you can't afford the Armies they will shrink accordlying. Any army over 10k that is in a province that has a lower population then the army does will suffer with either higher Miltary Upkeep or some loses because not being supplied. New AI System Have a Aggressor scale in the game so if a nation is starting wars, neighboring nations will feel unsafe and begin to defend each other. Say you have taken over 3 small nations now the other neighboring nations will see this and begin to develop Alliances or defense Pacts. They can also out right attack you if the nation you attacked was friendly to them. Add more bonuses to Buildings Workshops should also increase economy Growth not just production income. Farms should increase economy slightly Ports should increase economy Growth The cost of building shouldn't increase either. New Defense Have a new Option for Army units to build defense on the province they are in. New building, Wall. This blocks enemy units from going through a province but can be walked around.
  2. Operation Scandinavia After 17 years Sweden became a economic powerhouse. Producing 2k gold each turn and a newly formed army, the goal now is to take over the Scandinavia Area. With the Eastern border protected from any invasion it was time to start Operation Scandinavia. Operation Scandinavia Phase 1: Invasion of Norway In the 5th of December of 1260, phase 1 of Operation of Scandinavia was under way. With a constant flow of 2k of gold it would ensure a constant flow of 600 army each turn of needed. Army North would split Norway in 2, and focus on flanking Norway from West then to South. The Southern army would a focus on a defensive approach while a small army would encircle the capital. The Northern Army was succeeding in the advance. My focus is take out their economic provinces to win the War long term. Norway sent their Main Army to gain a province, though I lost 1000 men they left their capital open for invasion. Northern Army was stopped at the north so reinforcement was sent, the southern part keeps the offensive. Norway spread out their main force but they lost one important thing, their capital. With lost of their economic center they can not replace the army they lost while I can. Reinforcement from My capital was sent. The war continues
  3. Novgorod Army was defeated in Karelia. I regrouped the remains of the reaction army to get to Saint Petersburg as fast as possible. If Novgorod would want to start to invade again he would need his high economy province to ensure a long term war. Novgorod Advance to the outskirts of the province, it may in ruins and defenseless. This is exactly what I want Novgorod to think, I built up a army strong enough to start to a advance to it's capital. Having the remains of the last army in the rear as reinforcement I waited til they take Saint Petersburg Saint Petersburg was taken but I sent in my army to retake it and the reinforcement to reinforce the eastern flank to make sure I do not get encircled. Army Centre would need to be build up again to attempt to gain back the middle initiative I pushed back Novgorod and with the capital defenseless I sent a small fraction of the army to take over the Capital. Army Centre built up, was sent out to push back the remaining enemy army and having the last of the Eastern front army to block any flanking, it was a push to the border The Capital was taken and Novgorod Armies was defeated in all Fronts, this is the beginning of the end for Novgorod. The order to advance was a go. The head of the army was defeated at the outskirts of Novgorod's capital but it was a desperate attempt to stop the advance, it weaken their army while the rest of mine was still arriving. Once it was defeated it was time to strike the heartland. I continued the advancement I think they lost to much economy to fund a war. My army swept through the heartland of Novgorod. The final part of the Invasion Novgorod has fallen Novgorod War, was a victory through there was high casualites, they suffered more. The new acquired land from Novgorod, and a truce. It opens the door to the west since the Eastern Part of Sweden is protected. The war is not over, the Prussian invaded me so I decided I should pay a visit. I Build up a army of 2000 and I set sail to the Prussians. I was offshore of The Prussians but they have their own army waiting for mine. Through they are weaker then mine, it is not a 3 to 1 advantage I would like to have so I figured to ask for peace before attempting to invade. They have accepted and Sweden is ranked 4th in the world. With new lands and protected borders. I have time to grow or just end the story here. What else do you guys want me to do?
  4. Population does not equal manpower, Manpower would be 10 percent of that population
  5. Population Boost Create a new tab which allows immigrants or new population to be added in 1. It would increase population until a percent of your choosing province instability. Basically letting strangers into your province. The Trade off would be the province would be unstable and you would need to assimilate the new population. 2. Allow provinces to migrant their populations to another province of your choosing. Basically shifting the population to a province you want. For example your capital. The con of this is that you can make a province have a population of 50k-70k and it make it highly valuable so if you are at war they would try to go after that province. Economy Boost 1.Use the population to create the economy. Makes zero sense but hey it's numbers. Example, for every 3 population you can make 1 economy. Cons, lower population less army to build. 2. TRADE I hate how this game doesn't try to expand on trade. Allow the option to trade with other nations. Trade population for economy or Gold for economy
  6. Would seen on the same tab with economy and population Would be used for mobilising a army without using gold ,just upkeep. Also effecting the income of the province taking too much manpower from the economy will make it suffer. Cost Manpower to build buildings (they would be taken away just until the building is complete)
  7. Being a Great Power (top 10) really doesn't mean much since all it takes is just 2-3 lesser ranks to take you down. If anything is should be about the influence it has around the surround nation. Say if you have a strong enough Army you can almost guarantee peace in the surround area or if you have a high economy which would be good for other economy's or some other system.
  8. They should make it so that you can't fund research points. To obtain research points you need to either focus on using the tech points into that or focus on building buildings that help grow technology level. This would make a country that isn't focus on research grow much slower in technology. It would definitely cause a bit more realism to the game since now it would take much long to reach the technology of say .6. Being a bigger country will only mean you have a higher potential but doesn't mean you should be more technology advance to a smaller country that focus on research for the past 35 turns. It would really add another level of Gameplay compared of what we have now where if you have a big country with a big economy it would also equal to having a high technology level since you can just replace your income into points.

  10. Right, focus on building the economy or development. Maybe even having certain governments be able to have a quicker recruitment rate. The only other thing I would add to this is that supplies should be a major thing. If a invading army is staying in a province for too long then will run out of supplies. In a way limit how big a army can get
  11. Money should be used for other things, such as building infrastructure. Having a bigger economy shouldnt mean you should be able to rush through a war. There should be potential for it but if you do not prepare for war then you would be less likely to win.
  12. Instead of building a army using money, scrap that and have it being that it require that province's population to build a army. This will make so that your gold can not quickly build a army in one turn. Example, you select provinces that will build a army for you based off of the population the province has. Population of 25000, would be able to recruit a army of 1500 but it would take 3 turns. Each turn makes 500 units There needs to be a new building so that you can train a army. The higher the level the building is the faster and more units you can build. The cost would increase the military upkeep. This would allow a nation prepared for war, have a higher chance of winning. Even if you are a small nation but have time to build up a army without costing gold would be ideal in terms for war. A Big Nation will always out produce units because of gold but take that away then this allows a small nation to take down a big nation or at least get them to agree to a peace deal in the small nation favor. Having these buildings in the game would allow strategic planning since now you know where you should plan your attack. You would want to take out their building so they cant counter attack or build a army close enough. With what we currently have a Nation with a high budget can build a army of 2500 in one turn, which is annoying because you probably was prepared for war but suddenly they out number you.
  13. Armies can be lead by Selected Generals which give them a buff on certain skills or terrains. Armies must be over 2.5k or 5k to be consider to be lead by a General.
  14. Novgorod Campaign Sweden with land gained from the previous war has gain the rank of 3rd most powerful nation in the world. This isn't the end, with the last enemy at the border I will make sure that Sweden would dominate the northern part of Europe. In preparation for the the invasion of Novgorod, the Prussians declare war on Sweden. This was not what I was prepared for and since i was building a army on the other side of the sea, I would need time to prepare the defense of Sweden. A small garrison was recruited in the capital to be the first line of defense so I may switch focus to Novgorod. The army regrouped on the border and fully prepared I have decided it was time to attack. May 2nd 1235 War was declared The invasion of Novgorod has began with the armies attack from all Fronts. The Initial attack was an success but our southern armies was face with a army that had been hidden from us. A army of 4000 was station in Saint Petersburg. We were weren't prepared for such an army. Army Centre continue the assault well I quickly regroup the Southern Armies to a castle. The Novgorod Counterattack has begin Novgorod Grand army destroyed my main south army with high casualites. I scramble to summon armies to stop his advance. I sent Army Centre to help encircle his grand army or at least capture his high economic provinces. Containment has failed Novgorod army has spread over karelia, I must take back the initiative so with Army Centre I began to attack St Petersburg to ensure we have supplies. Weaken from not being supplied I pushed Army Centre to take the Capital of Novgorod. I attempted to connect the coast to ensure we have supplies. With the Grand army of Novgorod encircled I began to attack from all sides. We will outnumber them in our land. Successful we continue our counterattack, there is no where to run for the remains of the Grand army. This War completely made me lose focus on another enemy, and they took advantage of it. Prussians Invaded Sweden. This was a complete surprise and was extremely close to the capital. Afraid of losing the capital I build up a army and waited tok see what they would do. The Prussians attack the countries side taking alot of land but they left the Southern flank open for a counter attack. While dealing with the Prussian invasion, I began to deal with the Novgorod armies in Karelia To be continued
  15. There should be other ways to build up a army. The Draft You would get units from provinces each turn but it would be in proportion with the provinces population. Figure if the province population is 25000, each turn you would get 50-100 units each turn. The downside, the provinces you selected for the draft will suffer unhappiness and revolt if it's been drafting Army for long. Mercenary Option for the ability to buy army Units or sell their services to other nations. It would be higher military upkeep but will not effect the population of the province. Cost would be cheaper then building your own army but there is a limit to how long you can have them serve you for and they need time to get to your nation depending how far the they are. They can retreat/disband from war if you do not pay them. For example, Greece wanted 2.5k units from England, those units would need to travel the distance between them. The other catch is that there is only a certain amount of mercenary in the world. The amount will increase if nation began to sell their army to be used for mercenary. Each nation can only give limit of 5000 units to the mercenary. Mercenary purchase can't be used against the nation you purchase them from. They can not travel in allie or friendly land Recuitment What is currently in the game Total War Conscription Only offered to a nation if they lost 3/4 of their core provinces. It allows to recruit half the maximum of the recuitmentable population of a province. The province suffers instability, and revolt would increase. The province will not be able to produce money. They are only half as effective as standard army so they would need to outnumber the enemy by 1:2.4 The cost to upkeep is lower than standard but the cost of movement is higher. They can only summon these kind of armies from 2-4 provinces each other turn. This would be a last ditch effort since you would also suffer from decreased income. After war is over they will be disbanded and the cost of good would need to increase to cover the lost of citizens Foreign Military Assistance you ask for Miltary help from surrounding neighbors, It would not be limited and it would not draw them to war against the enemy. It would be a trade deal in a sense, like France can offer 5k units for X amount of gold or a province. Depend where they are and how far you are, will determine how long it'll be until they reach you New Building Training Camp Takes Army Units beside mercenary and train them to gain a battle ratio of 1:1.4. It would take 5 turns for the max of 3.5k units to achieve this buff. This cost 5000 gold Training them again which adds 5 more turns so its 10 turns to achieve the battle ratio of 1:1.8 and cost 10000 gold. But these trained armies gain lower movement cost but higher upkeep. The building itself would cost 15000 gold to build and also cost Miltary Upkeep. Balance Small nations may have higher skilled army at the start of the game/ have the building itself. Larger Nations may have a mix of them but mostly standard units. Each type of armies will be colored differently.

  17. Karelia War The momentum from the victory of the previous wars made me confident for this war, they aren't weaken but Sami wasn't friendly with Karelia. I offer for a joint war effort against Karelia which they agree. The war has began The western army began the assault while the southern army will be grow and use for the final attack. Western Front was successful but faced the Main Army of Karelia. Karelia attempted to counter attack in all Fronts but they failed and lost their main army. My army regrouped and continue their attack. Successful in all front I moved to attack the capital to end this war. Karelia was conquered The war was won and and took control most of the provinces. The lost of 1300 units will be remembered. Sweden was ready for Novgorod
  18. 2nd Goal: Maintain the Borders Novgorod became unfriendly during the War of United Coastline. I have left the border defenseless since assimilating and building the economy used alot of gold it wasn't needed until now. To protect the border with less army i have began the building of Castle on Vyborg. At this point, War must be avoid to allow time to grow. There are things you can't avoid. The Flu It began in the outskirts of the Capital. I expect a quick pass through but I was wrong. In a matter of 6 months I have lost 23000 people to this flu which was hurting my economy but it will not effect my goals. The army that fought in Kvenland had arrived to the border, Novgorod build up a their armies on the border. If war was to happen, it would happen here. The Flu was ending but not without taking thousands of lives with it. The Kingdom of Sweden has lost 78000 of its citizens. It affected the morale of the army and the population. The flu gave no mercy to the sick. In the year 1215, Sweden had fully assimilated the nation of Kvenland. Tension building and with Economic growth I invested more in border protection. A Opportunity: Tavastians-Kakisalmi War With growing tension building between these two small nation war erupted. The time spent focusing on economy I am able to afford a small conflict which this would be perfect for. The capital of Tavastians has a high economy and population value which would be a great addition to a Greater Sweden. So I decided to build up a new army focus on the borders of Tavastians. In the beginning of 1224, I declared war on Tavastians began the first assault to the capital. Tavastians survived the 2 front attack leaving no survivors. Afraid of losing this precious province I quickly scramble to summon a army to try and attack it again. Tavastians surrounded by all sides pushed back Kakisalmi Armies from it's border and push to take one province from me. This counter attack came at a cost they suffer high casualties and the armies were spread to thin. The Armies station in the castle was sent out this was the turning point of the War. Tavastians surrounded and out numbered, I closed in from all Fronts to ensure victory. With Tavastians Defeated my army moved to the weaken nation of Kakisalmi. The nation lost there best army and had no money to recruit another so I have decided to attack them because if I let them live they will recover and be able to build up a army to be a problem for me. With Novgorod Having a chance to declare war on me in any turns made it clear. Kakisalmi must be invaded. The Armies invaded on all Fronts Swiftly we moved across the weaken Nation, though it is cruel if we don't take it other nations will. Sweden was Victorious winning both wars and gaining full controll of their provinces. This War was practice for the wars to come. Through conquest Sweden has grown to be a Great Power, but as I grow Enemies do too. Taking more land has created a larger border to protect and all in the Eastern Part. Will Sweden Survive, or Thrive?

To be powerful nation you need a strong economy to support the army so that was my focus and to establish a friendly Nations to secure the borders. My first Military move was to take Kvenland to unite the split coast of Sweden. Invasion of Kvenland In March of 1203, I've build up a army on both sides of the border ready to invade at my mark. I have ask the Leader of Kvenland to lay down there arms and join the dream of a Greater Sweden. The have refused which meant war so my army had there commands and started the invasion. War For United Coastline The Initial attack was swift and quick we have gain the initiative but unbeknownst to me they had a army in the sea which I wasn't prepared for. They attempt to counterattack on both fronts, I recruited a small army on the eastern front to ensure my Nation will not be invaded. The western front seem it would be able to withstand the counterattack, I sent out a small army group to keep the push to the capital. Western army was able to survive the counterattack and continue it's assault, the Eastern army suffered a lost and the reserves had to be sent out. Western Army suffered a lost of 433 units when it was confronted with Kvenland's Main Army. The Kvenland nearly surrounded us and almost cut off our supply chain. I sent out a small army to ensure we do not get surrounded and what was left to face the Kvenland Main Army head on. Eastern front had gained back the initiative but Kvenland wasn't over with it's counter attack and attempted again. Victorious on all Fronts we push for the capital and all controlled provinces. War For United Coastline was over and Sweden was Victorious. We have lost 1,800 units in this war but they did not die in vain since now Sweden is not separated but united In the years to come we seek to expand but this war will not be the only one, it was just a taste of what will come.   22. When it comes to war it's a Numbers game. This gets annoying because the casualties are close. For every 1 unit you need 1.5 units which is my guess. There should be a option when you are being attacked of Retreat or go to Battle. Option of Retreating will mean victory to the invading force but your army will not suffer a complete lose of units. A invading army of 2000 attacks a province of 1000, if the Retreat option was used then the surviving Army of 1000 would be moved to a chosen adjacent Province. The formula for this Retreat option would go something like, X=(Y+DefenseBonues)-(Z(20%)) X= Surviving Army Y= Province Army Z= Invading Army This would ensure the chance to make a counterattack if they attack your province. Since all you would need to do is build the army in the selected retreated province to be ready for a counter attack. The invading army will suffer only: A=X(15%+defense Bonuses) A= Army Lost X= Surviving Province army Retreating can only be Done if you have a Adjacent Province to retreat to. This would be excellent in the strategic Aspect of a War since you want to flank them to prevent a Retreat Option also Allowing a Form of a Front for wars. Battle option would stay the same. Adding this kind of Gameplay to this game would be fitting, since you would need a way to preserve your precious army and find a way to turn the War in your favor. This would turn Armies into Actual Army which can suffer casualties in a normal matter, then just losing a decent size army to a slightly bigger army. There are times where I lost a army of 5500 to a 6000, in where if this exist by the next turn I could turn that 5000 to 8000. Armies are hella expensive to build since you can't even summon a army of 5500 without a high population/ and alot of money.
