So like, I seriously have no idea how to create new provinces using the map editor and how to add it to the game, it's just so confusing, some help would be appreciated

AOH2 Province Exporter I made this program because i had to make it lol and i made it in JavaScript. This program exports provinces you have made with the Map Editor, so instead of using the Map Editor to export provinces and having to rename the provinces (which isn't the case for Map Editor 2.0) or deleting and remaking the province files with the Map Editor, which is very time consuming. You could use this to export the provinces that are displayed in the Map Editor The way it works is by using the Map Editor data / mapAoC2_v2.txt file and exporting it to generate provinces. The Instructions of how to use it is in the program. Upload the Map Editor data. ( or mapAoC2_v2.txt file, which is located in editor_data folder in your Map Editor folder.) Website Version of the Exporter: https://honsda.github.io/AOH2-ProvinceExporter/web Running the program in Windows 1. Download the Zip file from releases in GitHub. or download from here (v1.0.3) AOH2-ProvinceUpdater-v1.0.3.rar 2. Extract the Zip file. 3. Run it and do what it says. Also i only made an executable version of the program for Windows, you'll have to download the repository and run it by yourself. Running the program for Non-Windows users 1. Download NodeJS for your OS. 2. Download the repository in GitHub. (Press "Code" and click "Download ZIP") 3. Extract the Zip file. 4. Open cmd prompt and redirect to the extracted folder using `cd <your-path-here>`. 5. Type `npm install` and wait for it to finish. 6. Run the program by typing `node update.js` on the cmd prompt.

Steps: 1. Download Map editor. 2. Clear all data. 3. Copy/Create bg.png (background for your map) 4. Create province. 5. Copy first province into new folder (Province is called PROV, and move it into folder that will be containing all provinces) 6. Rename your first province to 0 (second to 1 etcetera) 7. In game map folder (steamapps\common\Age of Civilizations II\map) copy template (and rename it), and clear "cities" folder. 8. Copy your provinces into update, \data\provinces (I'm not sure if you need to copy it into provinces folder, but It works too :P) 9. Edit config.json(in copied template folder) and change values: { Map: [ { MapName: "%Mapname%", Author: "%Yournickname%", BackgroundName: "%bgname%", ContinentsPackage: "Earth6" RegionsPackage: "Earth_AoC2", NumberOfProvinces: %numberofprovinces%, MapScale: 3, WorldMap: true, Scenario: "testScenario", Wiki: "Wikipedia:Unusual_articles" }, ], Age_of_Civilizations: Map } 10. Rembmer to create background files with name %bgname%_L and %bgname%_R 11. go back to map folders and add line to make game read that map: { Map: [ { Folder: "Earth" }, { Folder: "Ashan" }, { Folder: "Earth_AoC1" }, { Folder: "Kepler" }, { Folder: "template" }, { Folder: "%mapname%" }, ], Age_of_Civilizations: Maps } 12. Run game and go to Editor>MapEditor>EditConnections and Provinces>Update every province you added. (EXAMPLE) 13. Congratulation you have created your first map 😛 Short video, if you still need help. (OS is in polish, rest is in english 😛 ) If you add new province check continent of this province in map editor, if it is "Ocean" the map will load lower scale of the province background Extra: CREATING PROV FILES:

Does anyone know how to add new provinces? I've tried learning it but I just can't do it right...I just want to add a few provinces in the ''Europe'' map so if anyone who knows how and is willing to add them I would appreciate it.

Hi, I have a problem. Namely: when I replace a map file in the map editor with a map with dimensions of 21600x10800, this does not start, can this problem be solved without reducing the map resolution?

Hi! This is my first map I making that because some mapper with name "Janislaw" maked new series from mapping so I do he's map for AoC2. i made a map, and followed all steps detailed by wersjon, but it crashes my game and i dont know why

I keep getting this problem when trying to make a map; every time, everything goes nicely, and when I upload the provinces in game; they're extremely inaccurate in the sense that they're off point by 3 cm or 10 px; Hope somebody knows why this happens, and how to solve this problem.

So I made a custom map with the map editor and brought it over to the /map folder in the AoC game files, and the game was able to read and allow me to edit the connections, sea provinces etc. However, I just can't start a new game with it because it loads up to 98% and brings me back to the main title page! can anyone help? Attached is the map folder RedMoon+ Background.7z

I did everything as it was written in the tutorial, but the game refuses to load the map. I tried a bunch of seemingly obvious and effective solutions (I copied provincе files to folders 1 and 3 in the "scales" folder, also copied it to the "provinces", "update" and "updatePB" folders), but nothing helped. Hope, there is a solution of my problem. DarkestHourWIP.rar

If you click on map editor and scroll down there is a option to "Generate predefined borders". If you click on it then it goes through a cycle of every country in 1-2 minutes. When it's there are no noticeable changes. Does anyone know what this is? (I'm on android by the way)

so I was going to continue with a little project I was working on when this came up (in the picture) I thought it was just a problem with that map editor so I tried to open a different copy of it I had and the same thing happened. It started after I downloaded a 'better' map editor thing on here awhile back but I never thought that I wouldn't be able to open any of the map editor applications i have (the same one just different copied for different projects)
