  2. AoC2 Soldier mode is finally released. There are 3 different tanks, 4 different soldiers, 2 different cannons, 2 different planes. I can't believe there's such a mode. If you're not so pacient on taking diplomacy with everyone and likes war as this game is dedicated, welcome, this post may help you with some war tactics on this game 1 - Let them attack: first of all, if you build a good defense against a weaker and smaller nation (Example: China vs North Korea) Let them attack until their economies are struggled, (this may be noticed if they attack with less troops), then after all the attacks, strike violently against the enemy and win the war with low resistance. 2 - Don't be sieged: NEVER let any enemy siege your army, it may makes it without supplies and weaken army, you may lose alot of troops, that is not glorious and the enemy may push back against you, also do sieges against strong armies of like 2000+ soldiers to weaken the enemy. 3 - Allies: Allies are the cherry of the cake in this game, with allies together both of you can beat a stronger nation (example Camboja and Laos vs Thailand) they also have a nice force that may help you alot in battle, also if your army is completely destroyed, your ally can still hold the positions when you're recovering your army, i've used this tactic alot of times and worked pretty well. 4 - You're never overprepared: Thinking that you're overprepared for any war can be some kind of illusion, (don't think like you can't take luxembourg with 70000 troops, please) this game is a box of surprises that can destroy you some time (example: 3 nations may declare war at you at the same turn), you need to have absolute trust that you're going to take that country. 5 - Have a good economy: To have a good army, you need first to have a very well developed economy, so you can still be stabilized with an enormous army spending, this may help you to recover the army in case of emergencies, if not have a good economy, VERY HIGH CHANCE of your treasure be negative and you lose cause you can't rebuild the army. 6 - Armoury and Supply camps: NEVER forget about these 2 buildings, they ABSOLUTELY are important for your wars: Armoury: Basically troops become cheaper, very good for builds of enormous armies Supply Camps: Very important if you're invading a big country (Example: invading russia) Thank you all for the attention, Hope i helped you alot, if you got any extra tips, comment it, it may help new players to get good at this kinda complicated game. - Yetaloz

But then at 15:30 UTC, tensions over the recent Russian invasion of the Baltics the day before caused NATO to declare war on Russia when Narva fell, Russian predident Alexander Vykov earlier that day warned of 'nuclear interventon' if NATO went to war, but at about 15:51, Russia deployed the nukes, causing America to do the same a few minutes later. by about 17:30, the last nukes hit and the governments hid in bunkers. 300 million died that day. And the nuclear winter and fallout caused 5 billion more to die and for the entire planet to collapse. It wasn't until the mid 2060s that people started getting out of their bunkers and creating new civilizations. the former nations left their bunkers but all but a few were quickly overwhelmed by local powers. by 2120, society was starting to normalize. As usual, many countries went to war. humanity was set back to the industrial age. some former US state governments managed to survive and declare independence.   11. Let's face it, the diplomacy in the game is broken. Nations all around you break into all out pointless war, forcing me to play the game at AI aggressive 50% so Ming doesn't conquer all of India before 1550. It doesn't necessarily even need to be complex. A simple timer between wars you can declare is good enough. Say, you cannot declare another war for the next 50 turns with ANYONE, not just your original opponent.

  13. Armies can be lead by Selected Generals which give them a buff on certain skills or terrains. Armies must be over 2.5k or 5k to be consider to be lead by a General.

  17. When it comes to war it's a Numbers game. This gets annoying because the casualties are close. For every 1 unit you need 1.5 units which is my guess. There should be a option when you are being attacked of Retreat or go to Battle. Option of Retreating will mean victory to the invading force but your army will not suffer a complete lose of units. A invading army of 2000 attacks a province of 1000, if the Retreat option was used then the surviving Army of 1000 would be moved to a chosen adjacent Province. The formula for this Retreat option would go something like, X=(Y+DefenseBonues)-(Z(20%)) X= Surviving Army Y= Province Army Z= Invading Army This would ensure the chance to make a counterattack if they attack your province. Since all you would need to do is build the army in the selected retreated province to be ready for a counter attack. The invading army will suffer only: A=X(15%+defense Bonuses) A= Army Lost X= Surviving Province army Retreating can only be Done if you have a Adjacent Province to retreat to. This would be excellent in the strategic Aspect of a War since you want to flank them to prevent a Retreat Option also Allowing a Form of a Front for wars. Battle option would stay the same. Adding this kind of Gameplay to this game would be fitting, since you would need a way to preserve your precious army and find a way to turn the War in your favor. This would turn Armies into Actual Army which can suffer casualties in a normal matter, then just losing a decent size army to a slightly bigger army. There are times where I lost a army of 5500 to a 6000, in where if this exist by the next turn I could turn that 5000 to 8000. Armies are hella expensive to build since you can't even summon a army of 5500 without a high population/ and alot of money.
  18. Age of Civilization 2 is a great strategy game and with that there can be improvements to enhance the playing experience. War Gameplay, Let's start with the War aspect of the game. This is basically a Numbers game when it comes to war, the bigger your army the more likely you would take over the smaller armies. Now I feel there should be some changes to make War more realistic. 1. Mobilising the army, A tool in which you can select certain provinces to build up a army. Say, if you selected 5 provinces with about 30000 population and you need a army of 15000. The tool would evenly or proportionately take units out of these provinces and you would also select where you want them to meet at. The tool should also say how long it would take it to mobilizes the army. 2. War Tactics In war, just because you have a bigger army does not mean you have guaranteed victory. A.Territories should make a bigger differences in the outcome of battles. Armies attacking Enemy armies in mountains or on hill's should suffer higher casualties. This would make provinces with mountains hard to take and if a castle built would be a challenge as well. B. Entrapment The moment a army is surround by all side should be debuffed or have a penality when in battle. This is needed when war is wage is a much larger scale. Armies that are entrapped are penalize and will suffer if they don't break out. Armies that are surrounding a entrapped army will gain a bonus in offensive attacks. For example, you surrounded a army of 3500 with a army of 3000 but spread out. Your 3000 army would have the offensive bonus which would make your 3000 units turn into 4000 units. The army of 3500 would be weakened to 3300 when trying to break out or 2900 if attacked by all sides. This would allow a smaller armies to create higher casualties to invading armies. Depending how big the army is will determine how long they can go with being entrapped. Say a 5000 army is entrapped in a 20000 population province they will run out of supplies in 2 turns. Any bigger army will only have 1 turn. C. Flanking Bonus to offensive army attack from 2 sides or more. D. Quick retreat Allows your army to retreat from the front lines to a selected provinces this will cost less movement points but you will suffer penalties until your army finally retreated to the location you want them to be. 3. Army types, This is something that would add a nice touch to the gameplay. These army types can just be color oriented to make things simple. A.Having Calvary units/ tanks (depending on the timeline) The limit should be base off of new Buildings Such as Stables, and Factories. They would take longer to mobilize but they do more damage base on the territories. Plains would give it a 50% bonus. These armies would need time to build, the Stable building will provide horses over time and using that with population cost, so every Calvary unit it would cost 3 population and 1 horse. Tanks would need a Factory which will build the tank and using 5 population for every 1 tank. If combined with standard army it gives the army a bonus. B. Navy units. Warship/Battleships: They are restrict to the sea and cost money to upkeep it. Would only be built with port in province (battleships would need factories also) Cost about 10- 25 population. This would be great to allow Some naval battles in certain wars or allow nations to really defend their coasts. They would be in low quantity but they can devastate a army trying to invade. C. Air force Would need a Factory and a Runway. Basically a port but in land. They would only support armies in battles. Would need more time to build but gives a great bonus to armies in defense and offense. For example, your army of 1500 invades a province of 2500 but with 500 airplanes will cost your army as 3000. If you are defending a province these units will give your defending army a bonus to to cause more casualties. They would be mainly for supporting of armies not replacing it. 4. Infrastructure Roads/ railroads. These would be a great addition to the gameplay. These would improve developing and the economy of the provinces. Army movement would be cost less. This would make the player choose where the roads will go and such allowing for better strategic location in defense. Having all your railroad and roads lead to your capital may be your strength and your biggest weakness because it would mean the invading army only needs to take your capital to ensure victory. 5. Use army for assimilating After a war there should be a tool to use your army to cover the newly conquered lands to control it and keep the peace. My guess in cost would be movement points and money. Allies flee in Africa, with divided regions from Axis Powers. North Africa is under Italy, Vichy and Spain while Europe is under Germany, Bulgaria, Finland, Romania and Hungary. Few puppets states has been created. Norse and UK governments has been overthrowns. In Asia, Japan lost most of occupied regions because of USA and China but survive thank to German support and sign an armistice with USA. Hitler accepted that semitic people live in Middle east (Arabs only) and create Fertile crescent under Fascist Iraq of Hashemite dynasty (The regime look like a theocracy or an islamic state in reality)
  20. Hi I am currently playing as Ireland, I have conquered England 😀 and they have nothing left, I control 100% of it. In AoC1 I would not be able to recruit new soldiers at this point but in AoC2 I can't. The English areas are still stripped like they are in-dispute, what is going on ? Thanks Colm

Collect all Troops to a specific Spot In a configurable Radius >=1 and <=15 Select a province that is set as a "Go To" spot, this is where all troops in a radius of up to 15 Provinces will move to in 1 Button Click This is very useful if you conquered a country with a lot of troops and split every time you get a new land Move all Troops to a specific Spot Worldwide! Select a province as a "Go To" spot. This is useful if you need to support Allys or Vassals that fight somewhere else. I had this issue in a game where i as Germany joined an alliance with Russia and Austria and they fought China and i had no way of moving all my troops quick enough to stop that fight, Russia was almost lost twice! Annex Countries that are not a vassal Like Russia did it with the Crimea Potential Risk of starting a War with that country. Depending on Economy e.g. if that country can afford to pull a war. Potential Risk of starting a War with friends of that country. Depending on existing friendly Nations with the country you try to annex. If there are no Friends, have fun calling it your new land. Potential Risk of starting a Revolution in these Provinces after Annexation. Does NOT depend on Economics or Stability. Stability Drops to 1% no matter what... Small Bonus to the Military and Economy in adjacent Provinces Less Upkeep Cheaper / Quicker building of Farms and workshops/shops Less income during War Unable to build Forts Minus Stability, that's not a thing, so Stability instantly drops to 1%. Diplomatic Negotiation. Takes at least 10 and a maximum of 25 turns. Less Risk of starting any form of War. Medium Risk of starting a revolution. If Revolution is the case, negotiations will be slowed down by another 10 rounds. Depends on Economics and Stability If Economy is decently high: Add up all economic Values and devide by the amount of Provinces, subtract 20%. If Average Stability is >=40% If the province has been raided before, Higher Chance of Integration of the other population Integration doesn't drop to 1% Base Integration of 40% if troops are in an adjacent Province to that country Troops will be lost if negotiations are positive, therefor Integration Bonus Theoretical Integration of Half the Province Value -0.002% per 20 People Example Value = 99% devided by 2 == 49.5% People = 4630 People devided by 20 == 231.5 ~= 232 Multiply 232 with 0.002 == 0.464% 49.5% - 0.464% == 49.036% <-- New Integration Level This has a heavy impact on Countries with big Population numbers! Population over 499950 will always be 1% Integration Only if no troops in adjacent Provinces (from your Nation!) Provoke a Revolution in other Countries Pay the population You need to be Enemies with the opposing Country You need to have a Ministry of Foreign Affair built in your Capital New Type of Building that lets you interact with the different needs of another Country Also lets you provoke Revolutions in enemy Nations Can only be built in your Capital city, will be destroyed if you move capital to different Province This will be expanded over Time!
