The 70 Years Rule

Have this happened to you before: you created a leader for a scenario but instead of him appearing, an older leader appears. Why does it happen? Shouldn't the game pick the youngest leader for a civilization in a scenario?

Or does it?

Through trial and error, a condition was found on the game leader selection mechanism. I'll describe it in a short phrase:

A Leader has a lifespan of 70 years. Should it be 70 years old at a scenario, the next youngest leader appears.

Leaders have this weird condition where they "die" at 70 years, and they rule the country until birth to death.

To explain this better, here I made these pictures to explain the testing:

Now you know, why your leaders didn't appear, in case you where making scenarios with leaders of very close birthdate. It was because the older leader wasn't 70 years old at the scenario where the new leader should have appeared.

I just tried this on Android. I set up a custom civ with two leaders born a year apart from each other, just like Azana and the test leader. I then created two scenarios set 70 and 71 years after the first leader was born. And in both scenarios, the first leader showed up. So I don't know if this applies to the Android version of the game in the same way it does for PC.

EDIT: I just created another leader born 2 years after the first one. The first guy still shows up.

Hmm that's weird. Maybe its as you say different on the mobile versions. I tried this with a friend and it worked for him too. It was before the name change, though. So it might have also to do with the new version changing something

Alright, I found the solution. The leaders have to be born 71 years apart or it doesn't work. I created two leaders: Leader A, born in 1949, and Leader B, born in 2020. Leader A appeared in scenarios set before 2020. All scenarios after 2020 had Leader B appear. This works on both PC and Android, so I guess the mystery's solved now.

      I really like the capitulation system in bloody europe and I kinda want it in my own little mod (will be private and not for public). ive looked through the game files of the bloody europe folder but i cant find the folder where things like capitulation are stored. help would be really appreciated

      Warning: I feel too demotivated, tired and sad. My mental health isn't doing too great right now, so i ask to not ask for stuff for the mod for now. I'm not sure about keeping on with the updates of this mod as i got tired (for the 70th time) of AoC2. Anyone can use this to make any of their mods.

      About the mod:
      This is a project of mine that combines pretty much most of the big mods out there. It has over 13k provinces and 70+ ideologies. 40+ scenarios and quite a few changes to the codes themselves.
       
      I don't claim ownership to this because i didn't made most of the assets of this. But if you're going to make some changes or reupload it, please contact me before doing it.
      Supported languages: English, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian and Turkish.
      It has over 160+ musics (The mod can get heavy because of this, so i created an non music version, HoI4 background and hoi4 sound effects, and it also have different icons. It has a lot of flags for each nation in each ideology.

      So if you are wanting to edit ideologies in the game just for fun and not creating an actual mod or if you just want to create a mod hands on instead of using those new editors and you're editing ideologies, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT let other ideologies have the same starting letter/symbol in their extra tags, i.e. you can't have two ideologies with the starting letters/symbols in their extra tag "c" so no "cm" or "cc" or whatever or else they will both override each other, you guys can have fun testing that out to see what happens
      Istfg I spent HOURS trying to fix this, so just be lucky y'all didn't have to
      And yes, sadly that means there could be a limit to the maximum amount of ideologies you could add but nobody say anything about spaces or diacritics, so test that out if you wanna add like 50+ ideologies or smth

      Les comparto este increible mod que he estado haciendo para el juego de Age of History 2, el objetivo de esta modificacion es explotar todo el potencial que este juego tiene, con nuevas funciones, formas de gobierno y otras cosas para hacerlo más interesante:
       
      ¿Que contiene este mod?
      Alpha 1.0:
      * Nuevo Soundtrack "Dystopia" de Kevin Macleoud
      * 28 Nuevos líderes para añadir al juego (comparto imagen)

      * Agregué los mapas de Papers Please y de la primera guerra undial (los mapas son de otros creadores que veran en el video)
      * 10 nuevos escudos, 8 de ellos en alta resolucion para mejorar el apartado del editor de bandera
      * 11 nuevos tipos de gobierno/ideologías con sus respectivas mejoras para crear mapas mucho mas realistas, estos tipos de gobierno son Socialismo, Monarquía parlamentaria, Monarquía absoluta, Dictadura militar, República Presidencial, República Semipresidencial, República Federal, República Parlamentaria, Nacionalismo, Teocracia y Anarquismo (cabe aclarar que las nuevas monarquías no se adaptan a las banderas monarquicas de los paises, se adaptan a la bandera usada por la ideología "democracia"
       
      No parece un gran avance, pero en el futuro se añadiran nuevos escudos, ideologías, induatrias, y si es posible nuevas unidades, todo para ser más entretenido y completo el juego.

There is currently no mod with This 12-15 year old period as the focus, and after the success of Age of Imperialism (which was focused on 1815-1870), it's time to change this and to start to look at the time right behind it.
