A brief foreword:

Hello Everyone,

This scenario has been in development for quite a while and I've reached the first major milestone in this project. Its come a long way since V1, but this is not the end for the scenario. Anyways, thank you for your continued interest and support for SEPARATISTS and I hope you enjoy this version.

What's new?

Well, I'm glad you asked!

  1. Added Asia
  2. Added Saint Pierre and Miquelon
  3. Changed North American borders
  4. Updated some flags

What is the future of SEPARATISTS?

Here's a general plan:

V4: add form-able civilizations, such as separatist movements that come from ancient kingdoms/empires

V5: add events (will be primarily for larger civilizations)

V6/Final: add more events (for smaller civilizations), review borders, etc.

Future: I'll continue to run general maintenance on SEPARATISTS, but won't make larger changes.

HEY! THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!

If you find an error in one of the borders that you want changed, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. If I missed a secessionist movement, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'd also appreciate if you link me to a source about the movement. I want this scenario to depict all separatist movements as accurately as possible (with the standard AOC2 map).

  1. Open the SepV3_Civs zip folder
  2. Open the SepV3_Civs folder
  3. Open File Explorer
  4. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Civilizations II\game\civilizations_editor in File Explorer
  5. Copy everything in the SepV3_Civs and paste it into civilizations_editor
  6. Replace the files (if prompted)

  3. You should now see two folders (SepV3.1flags and SepV3.1flagsH)
  4. Open File Explorer
  5. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Civilizations II\game in File Explorer
  6. find the flags and flagsH folder
  7. copy the files from SepV3.1flags and put them into flags 
    1. Replace the files if prompted
  8. copy the files from SepV3.1flagsH and put them into flagsH 
    1. Replace the files if prompted

UPDATE (V 3.1)

Hello Everyone,

I just uploaded SEPARATISTS V3.1, which fixes some significant issues. Much thanks to Kelvinnn for pointing this stuff out to me. The new version doesn't include any new custom civilizations, but it includes some important border changes. Also, I added a set of new files to download, the flags, which are meant to fix in-game flags that are inaccurate. The only flag that I've changed so far is that of Sarawak (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Sarawak), which uses an outdated version of the Sarawak flag (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raj_of_Sarawak). If you don't feel like downloading the flags,  they are inconsequential to the functionality of the scenario, but make the scenario slightly more accurate.

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to update everyone on the status of SEPARATISTS. Currently, I'm unable to work on the scenario, because my laptop is broken, but I should get it fixed soon. As soon as I get back my laptop, I'll get to work on V3.2. This version won't include much, but it will fix some errors on the map and add some formable civs.

Hey Everyone!

Just a quick update again. My old laptop is permanently broken, but luckily I got a garbage inexpensive laptop as a replacement. This means that I'm actually working on the scenario now, but it may take a bit longer for me to develop it.

P.S. If you guys have a form-able civilization that you'd like to be included, let me know and there's a good chance that I will include it.

      So, I started to make a new scenario called 'Actual Tomorrow' based on a lot of random stuff. Don't forget: It's not meant to offend anyone. It's just my look and everything I do in this scenario will not be true probably and will not turn like. maybe only some independence changes or smth. It's just a scenario which is whole custom and made by me, because I saw a lot of scenarios that actually happened a lot of years ago. So why not to make a scenario which is absolutely different? The thing is that I only have Europe so far and I started with Asia and Africa but the hardest thing will be russia cuz it's GIANT lol

      So I've completed americas and europe is done as well... Asia needs some changes, Africa is undone so far and I did not even start with australia. Oceania have 3 provinces so far so not enough lol. Next I completed russia and china...
      Just keep waitin' I'll progress

      So umm africa is done and I started continuing to asia. Also some info: Year is 2100 and no mods are used.

      Scenarios and Mods involving the famous 1830~ start date are pretty common, but even so, I wanted to try my hand at it. Being sincere, I’m posting this W.I.P since I’ve already lost all my progress once, and recently half of it too, so for it to not be another dead project, I wanted to at least show it, and search for some help on the forum.
      Anyway, getting back on track, one of the objectives of this so called mod was to “cover” the number of uncolonized/neutral provinces that appeared on most Victorian Age scenarios, and so with this, one could prevent the “Implausable colonizers”, (such as having early Qing colonies on the coast of Africa, or vice-versa, provinces that should be colonized being barren of any owner until really late on the game, such as provinces on the middle of North America), but most importantly, to give the possibility to the player to play as obscure but historical states or people’s which weren’t represented already on the game, this counts specially for regions such as Southern Africa, the Patagonian region, the Caucasus, Indonesia, Central Asia, etc.  
      So with this in mind, the player has more options on how to play the game, changing a little bit the structure for colonization, etc.

      Implemented Features:
      -New flags for various nations -270+ New Nations (and counting!) -Alternative flags and name for different ideologies of a nation (Example: "Tigray" being "Lordship of Tigray" as a monarchy or the "Tigray People's Democratic Republic" with the socialist ideology). More and revamped formable nations. Planned Features: 
      More nations (since there's still incomplete parts of the world such as India or Central Africa). A new type of ideology: "traditional state", specially designed for states which aren't tribal, but still have a chiefdom type of organization. Changes on the name of some things: "Vassal state" to "Satellite State", etc. Change the name of "Diseases", to represent "Situations", depending on the year. (Ex: "minor nationalist uprising" starting on 1844 or  "medium labour strike", etc). More Scenarios [ *Just ideas, probably not all of them* ]: "The revolutions of 1848", "The Crimean War(1853)", "1857", "1860", "Winds of Unification: 1865", " La Belle Époque (1871)", "1879", "The Great Scramble(1884)", "Sino-Japanese war: 1894", "1900", "Administrative divisions of 1900", "Moroccan Crisis: 1905". [There could be scenerios up to 1939, but with this ideas is probably more than enough for now]. New UI. More provinces and , wishfully, a new map background. Events (not for all scenarios though).       What is Dawn of Tomorrow?
      Dawn of Tomorrow is an AoH II mod focusing the game in a more contemporary, modern setting, Although realism and complexity are not priorities, DoT still tries to deliver a fun and fresh experience.
       
      What are the features?
      The features that are included in Dawn of Tomorrow are the following:
      Icons, UI and many graphical aspects updated to be more modern; Lots of new sounds replacing the old ones A new soundtrack (a.k.a Hearts of Iron IV soundtrack) New scenarios all set in the modern era A couple of new ideologies Some more that I'm forgetting Currently, the mod is a Work In Progress and not even nearly finished, there is a lot of work that needs to be done in many departments, I don't promise anything big, just a project that delivers the look and feel of a modern setting in AoH II whilst being fun.
       
      Scenarios won't have scripted events and if they do, they'll be minimal events to keep the game flow interesting and add a bit more of flair to the world.
       
      Some scenarios I have in mind are obviously the Modern Day, apart from that, here are some planned ones:
      2000 - Anno Domini 2000 2001 - Seven Hours (Based on Half-Life 2's Seven Hour War, the world VS the Combine Empire) 2004 - Buried West (USSR wins the Cold War) 2020 - Second American Civil War 2022 - Shattered World (The world has fallen and a lot has happened) 2030 - Legacy of War (Post WWIII Scenario) 2050 - Contact! (Alien invasion) As previously stated, this is a Work In Progress, some assets are even placeholders from other mods, there is no set release date but I will keep you all updated with info on the progress of the mod.
