Issues on Steam

So I bought and downloaded AoC2 on Steam. After installing the game on my PC, I go to run it, and a small pop-up box appears briefly, then disappears. Then nothing. I've uninstalled, then reinstalled the game, with the same results. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, it would be much appreciated.

Have you tried booting up the game with all other windows closed? That was a problem for me.
