Holy Roman empire

Hey guys I've been thinking for long for how to leave the hre but i couldn't? 

Is it even possible to do that anyway? It would be cool if aoc3 existed

Any country should be able to exit or even join up provided their capital is located in HRE lands. On that note most northern Italian states (such as Lucca, Milan, Florence, etc.) actually have the potential to lead both a restored Roman Empire and the Holy Roman Empire. Historically Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor, was the closest to having achieved this goal (ruling HRE, Sicily, and Jerusalem simultaneously) however the Pope at the time put a stop to it.
