Outlawexperience 338 Posted January 14, 2024 I have an idea for a new governments system in Age Of History 3, especially for Democratic Governments Right now, from what we have seen in the AoH3 alpha is that you can change Governments easily just by paying some money. This mechanic that is already present in the previous game, doesn't make sense for a democratic civilization to turn into an absolute Monarchy without any consequences. So, there are my ideas for possible ways of changing governments/ leaders of government: -Elections: Democracies and Constitutional Monarchies could have an election system that happens every 3/4/5 years depending on what time is already set for each election: for example: USA has elections every 4 years, France every 5 years, etc.. The leaders that can be elected can either be democratic leaders (could have multiple democratic leaders at the election) or non democratic ones (Fascists, Communists, Royalists etc...). The authoritarian ideologies governments can have an option to permanently suspend elections, but also can change government freely, but have to face some backlash/ protests from the population. When fascists/ commies governments change government to democracy, a part of the population may disagree with it, but the rest may agree, same thing when absolute Monarchies turn into Constitutional Monarchies, but may face more backlash when becoming democracies. Constitutional Monarchies can also have elections to elect a prime minister or another ideology/government leader Only way to change government without having consequences is with elections or with events (unless the event has an outcome that gives consequences to the civilization) This is only an idea of how it could possibly work, tell me if I missed something to make the idea on how this system could work better aa30388
Matvey 252 Posted January 14, 2024 I agree with you and support you. But it is worth noting that under communism the main form of government was Soviet democracy. Such countries will obviously not have diverse factions as in a bourgeois democracy. But (as in the USSR for some time or in the PRC) there can be "platform" parties, which have different ideas about the way socialism will be built. Interesting, I agree with your point, in that case, we can add different interpretations of Communism as separate ideology, or having multiple leaders that have the same ideology, for example: After Lenin's death, we can choose either Stalin or Trotsky, with them being assigned with the same ideology (Communism) or separate ideologies (Stalinism, Trotskyism, Bolshevism, etc...)
