Mirolit 185 Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) But it definitely shouldn't be like in HoI4 - the aviation mechanics there are illogical and primitive: planes must control huge air zones (even in France there are only two, this is absurd) in order to achieve some kind of ghostly superiority modifier. A really good example of aviation mechanics is in HoI2/Darkest Hour: airplanes are full-fledged units that have a range (depending on the type of aircraft and open technologies), can be relocated to any province with an air base (intermediate air bases are used for long-distance flights, while morale is consumed). Each air unit can perform an individual task (the available tasks also depend on the type and level of aircraft): air patrol, bombing (attacks ground units, which causes them losses and slows down movement), strategic bombing (attack on industry and infrastructure), air support, airborne landing, attacking targets on the water, nuclear bombing, etc. Missiles (including ballistic missiles, which can be equipped with a nuclear warhead when a special technology is discovered) are also an air unit (but disposable) Edited January 20, 2024 by Mirolit
