POLANDjapan 38 Posted March 22, 2024 In game there's many troops that advance with time passing in game, I think there should be specialised units though, units that'd barely change through the time, for example English Longbowmen, Polish hussars, Ottoman janissaries etc. All special units would have their recruitment limit and certain requirements allowing to start recruiting them, for example in case of hussars requirements could exist and if they're met law allowing hussars recruitment would be unlocked, such requirements could be owning provinces of certain faith (Janissaries) or being in certain timeframe, most/all specialized units would be automatically dissolved and blocked after reaching certain date, for example English Longbowmen would exist only between 1300s-1642, janissaries 1370s-1826. I think special units mechanic would make countries a bit more different from eachother.
