Since it's for alliance, diplomacy would still be activated, except for unions, which would be the same for both.

And maybe an alliance that only provides economic or tech generation points which parties are not obligated to join wars

also that nations can only be apart of 1 each type of these alliances unless they contradict each other

Agree, beside, I add one more:

5. The option to make alliance names appears on the map instead of country names. Ex: North German Confederation appears on the map instead of each state.

In the 1440 scenario, Denmark, Norway and Sweden must be part of the Kalmar Union. They can be in the same color but different shades.
