Mirac44 36 Posted September 17, 2024 Railroads should scale in levels and the initial construction price should depend entirely on the region, like plains and tundra. Railroads should be very important, especially in the era of emerging technological advancements.Basically countries like Canada Russia and Australia should be nerfed to need them.Railroads should feel expensive but rewarding. We should be able to get armies to use railroads so we can mobilize and attack earlier than the enemy.Railroads should have local maintenance costs and be non-loss-making.For example, Yukon should produce 10 infrastructure instead of 100 infrastructure, but it should be profitable. So you won't build 2 levels of railroads in Yukon, it's unprofitable, but we should still be able to build railroads even if they are less than 1 level. Railroad construction should give a bonus to general construction. Also it would have been good to weaken the Roman empire a bit realistically instead of making it technologically backward because it was overly dispersed and huge. A cheaper and ineffective version of the railroad in the early game, dirt gravel and concrete roads can be added. When concrete roads and cars are invented, they will become as effective, if not more so, than the railroad.
