OwnM3Z0 1,102 Posted April 29, 2024 This Terrain type is going to exist for mountain ranges that were notoriously impossible to conquer, more specifically: Tibet The Alps Ethiopian Highlands Andes Mountains All these are pretty much impenetrable walls of stone that have severely affected both the diplomacy and geopolitics of their respective regions, i suggest some bonuses for this that represent that: Countries with more than 50% of their provinces being of this terrain type get many bonuses and debuffs Any Invading army loses soldiers quickly with a rate of 200 per month in this terrain and is severely slowed down (armies usually lost a lot of men to harsh terrain and weather when they invaded these places historically) Planes, Tanks, and artillery does not work in this terrain, planes will quickly crash, tanks cannot even move, like clicking on the province won't do anything Cavalry DO NOT work in this terrain, they simply CANNOT move on it at all, and any attempt to do so will cause Massive losses with a rate of -1000 cavalry per month (Horses can't invade tibet lol) +60% defense on their land (MAY SEEM EXTREME BUT IT IS ACCURATE HISTORICALLY AND MAKES ALOT OF SENSE) -10% Research speed (High mountain means more seclusion and less interaction with others) -20% economy (historically these terrain types Don't trade much and development of roads And infrastructure for example is way harder) +5% building cost (as i said building anything is harder) +10% building time (same thing) And most importantly for AI Specifically, Countries with at least 70% of their provinces with this will Unlock: Neutrality AI Will not interact with it's Neighbor's thru much diplomatic means, Not joining Any alliance Or declaring war, usually their relations with Neighbours Is Set At 0, and NO INVOLVEMENT in aggressive Expansion, Meaning another country has to initiate war (Which AI Will not do), AI Will always opt to have those countries as neighbours instead of conquering them as they serve as a buffer zone and they won't invade one another anyways, this is realistic for tibet, switzerland, and any south american country in the mountains Wayne23lololh, Matvey and Jerrymouse500
