OwnM3Z0 1,102 Posted May 11, 2024 A Couple Months ago i made a post with my old account @dodoaltac about a mod I planned to do where I would replicate the entire history of the world using events starting in the 1200 start date...I Even got to researching and gathered information on each regions history starting from 1200 till the 1440 start date and i found an AI engine to use for the art in the events... well sadly by the looks of it, this won't be feasible, at least not in alpha, the JPEG style Events have no way of assigning provinces, no way of adding civs and despite having way more triggers and outcomes than the old AOH2 event creator that was in the editor, it's very lacking and is not as versatile as the old one, being only limited to bonuses, debuffs, declaring war and other new things... That Being said, the mod is not cancelled, it is simply delayed until either lukasz fixes this issue or someone mods in the old events creator adapted for the new game features of course, in the meantime i will get the events ready for when the idea is possible and will write a roadmap of which regions to start so that i can make the mod as historically accurate as possible without making the player be dragged by the events, so instead of a 100% historical approach i will add in a flexibility factor, for example the Mongols WILL appear and start invading and will have HUGE buffs to maximize how much they grow, but for obvious reasons it wouldn't be 100% historical, instead the mongols will become less of a historical event the player can't change and more of a challenge where you have to maximize your empires strength to be able to fend them off, the scramble from africa will shift from the borders being automatically assigned to historical accuracy to the player being able to get land based on what they control (eg: controlling the coast of southwest africa will give you these holdings via event, puppeting egypt will give you sudan as a colony via event, even if you don't own any land as a european nation if you have high relation with certain civs you get an event where you can claim one of three colonial options that haven't been decided yet), allowing the player to actually participate and have a say in historical events instead of simply being moved around like a puppet by the events, with the only exception to this rule being post ww2 where a system will be in place that will add cores to conquered civs based on the modern borders where you will get massive debuffs and constant instability both at home and in colonies if you don't release the civs, you COULD even pull a france and practice neo colonialism.. In short, i have a lot of idea's for this mod but few of them are actually feasible, maybe when the game leaves the alpha phase i'll pull this off, just keep in mind that i WILL Pull it off insha'allah when they're possible @Łukasz Jakowski PLEASE add the option to use an event creator similar to the old one, WE CAN'T TRANSFER PROVINCES USING THE CURRENT ONE SerenDippTheGreat
