Wayne23lololh 1,645 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) Hello, I hope that everyone has a good day. Many people suggested making governments a more detailed feature in the game. For now, governments could be changed by clicking to another government, and paying some coins and legacy points. It is too easy and "unrealistic" for a strategic game, even if it must stay simple. The idea, to not make this too complicated, is to make governments have an assembly of several "specific laws" that I would call "Constitution" that will include, Political Entity (previously called Government in one of my previous topic), Government Type and its Subordinate. Firstly, the government interface doesn't change too much, except there are bonus and requirement buttons. The example is for the Netherlands, is a Democratic Republic (I know it's a Monarchy): Now I will explain how the constitution will work aside from laws. The constitution will characterize the country by a set of "articles" that will define the country by Political Entity, Government and its Subordinates. Here's all its combinations : Republic Government Type + Subordinate Government Republic + Classical Classical Republic Republic + Democracy Democratic Republic Republic + Autocracy Autocratic Republic Republic + Socialism Socialist Republic Republic + Parliamentarism Parliamentary Republic Republic + Presidentialism Presidential Republic Republic + Merchantism Merchant Republic Monarchy Monarchy + Absolutism Absolute Monarchy Monarchy + Constitutionalism Constitutional Monarchy Monarchy + Feudelism Feodal Monarchy Monarchy + Electivism Elective Monarchy Monarchy + Totalitarian Constitutionalism Totalitarian Constitutional Monarchy Dictatorship Dictatoship + Totalitarianism Totalitarian Dictatorship Dictatoship + Fascism Fascist Dictatorship Dictatoship + National Socialism National Socialist Dictatorship Dictatoship + Proletarianism Communist State Dictatoship + Despotism Despotic State Unique Government Theocracy Theocratic State Horde Horde Tribalism Tribe City State City State Political Entity will define whatever if the country is Unitary, Federal or Confederal. Already talked about in Centralization and Decentralization. But this is separate from the two others to form a government. The country will be characterized by the government. There are 4 right now : Republic, Monarchy, Dictatorship, and Unique governments. The following subordinates, will precise the type of government, I can't say that it's ideologies, because there are a mix of the two. Now, here are the different options for Monarchy, Dictatorship, and Unique Governments : Dutch Republic : Democratic Republic United Kingdom : Constitutional monarchy German Reich : National Socialist Dictatorship Papal State : Theocratic State Here's bonus for each government : Republic Bonus Group ID Technology Classical Republic Administration Building Costs –5% Advisor Cost –5% Unit Attack +1 0 Democratic republic (modern) Increase manpower cost -5% Increase Tax efficiency -5% Maximum number of loans 3 0 1580 Autocratic Republic Maximum number of Manpower +3000 Maximum number of Loans +1 Building Construction Cost –5% 1 1790 Socialist Republic Construction Cost –10% Economic Bonus +5% 3 1790 Merchant Republic Economy Building Cost –5% Production Efficiency +4% Recruitment Time +10% 0 1200 Religious Republic Religion Conversion Efficiency Cost -5% Tax Income +2.5% Unit Morale +2 1600 Presidential Republic Develop Infrastructure Cost –5% Military Building Cost –5% Monthly legacy +0.25 1790 Monarchy Absolute Monarchy Advisor cost –10% Maximum manpower +2000 Monthly legacy +0.4 2 Constitutional Monarchy General cost –10% Increase Tax efficiency +5% Monthly legacy +0.25 0 1600 Feudal Monarchy Vassal Tribute +1.25 Manpower +2000 2 800 Elective Monarchy Resource Production +5% Happiness +2% Stability +5% 2 1600 Totalitarian Constitutional Monarchy Recruitment speed –5% Construction Time -5% Vassal liberty desire –5% 1 1930 Dictatorship Totalitarianism Maximum number of Loans –1 Production efficiency –2.25 Units attack +1 1 1790 Fascist State General Cost –10% Maximum Manpower +3000 Monthly Legacy 1 1920 National Socialist State Construction Time –10% Maximum Manpower +2500 Units Attack +2 1 1930 Dictatorship of the Proletariat Construction time -15% General Attack +2 Military Building Cost –7.5 3 1870 Despotic State (Despot) Unit Attack +1 Construction time –5% Unit Defense +2 1 1000 Unique Governments Theocratic State Maximum number of loans +2 Monthly Income +1.25 Monthly legacy +0.25 None Horde Army Recruitment Cost –5% Maximum number of Loans –1 Units attack +2 None 1000 City State Building Slot +4 Province Maintenance +10% Unit Defense +4 0 or 2 1200 Tribe Construction Cost +25% Construction Time +25% Maximum Manpower –5000 Maximum number of Loans –1 Units Attack –2 Units Defense -2 None To change the government, there are 2 ways. The fist one is to change by reforms, a peaceful way, but with a risk of leader assassination (ex : 60%). The second one, more interesting, is to lead a revolutionist group. We need first to choose the type of government (ex : republic), then choose the subordinate (ex : democracy) : ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The second feature is dynamic government types. In AoH2, monarchy changes when we upgrade rank, so adding it in AoH3 will economize types of government. I would be applying for Absolute monarchy, Tribal and Theocracy (Religious republic too). Manpower numbers will vary according to the era. This Feature is automatic, with some exceptions, I will say when. Firstly, Absolute monarchy would be divided in several level, that will be locked by the civilization rank and the number of province. Europe/Christian : Monarchy Level Monarch name Conditions Bonus Empire Emperor Over 200 province Rank in top 5% Must be proclaimed when all conditions are archived. Legacy points cost : 50 Gold Cost : 50 +700000 manpower -10% Army Maintenance +3.5 Legacy Points +5 Prestiges +15% Tax Income +10% Subject Tribute Income +5% agressive expansion Kingdom King Over 60 province Rank in top 15% +40000 manpower -7% Army Maintenance +3.5 Legacy Points +5 Prestiges +15% Tax Income Principality Prince Rank in top 20% +15000 manpower -5% Army Maintenance +3.5 Legacy Points +5 Prestiges +15% Tax Income Grand Duchy Grand Duke Over 30 province Rank in top 30% +8000 manpower -3% Army Maintenance +3.5 Legacy Points +5 Prestiges +15% Tax Income Duchy Duke Over 8 province Rank in top 65% +2000 manpower +3.5 Legacy Points +0.3 Prestiges +15% Tax Income Count Count For Europeans, it would be available only from 800 to 1900 (approximately), except for Empires and Kingdoms before 800 and only Kingdoms after 2000. When a civilization upgrades, the country can’t downgrade until the leader dies or change, except for empire and kingdom. For the case of empire, it must be proclaimed by the kingdom. When all conditions are archived, an event will pop up: Title: Become an Empire Simple Description: The country attains its full potential; it could be even more efficient if our king becomes an emperor! Should the country accept? Triggers: in the board Outcome 1: Yes, for our country greatness! (list of bonuses in the board) Outcome 2: No (Nothing bad) Arab/Sunni Islam : These are for Sunni Islamic Sultanates, and the Caliphate is for the strongest Islamic Sultanate, owning Mecca and Medina, giving several bonuses. The Caliphate could lose its title if it loses the ownership of Mecca and Medina, and the new owner of these cities will become the caliphate. Caliphate Caliph Strongest Sunni Muslim country or/and Possess holy cities (Mecca, Medina) When all conditions are reunited, an even will pop up, with no right to decline. +700000 manpower -10% Army Maintenance +4 Legacy Points +7 Prestiges +5% Tax Income +3% Subject Tribute Income +15% religion conversion +30 relations with all Shiite countries -3% agressive expansion Sultanate Sultan Rank in Top 80% Over 20 provinces +50000 manpower -5% Army Maintenance +1.5 Legacy Points +2 Prestiges +5% Tax Income Emirate Emir +2000 Manpower +3% Economic Bonus Here's the event for the Caliphate: Title: Caliphate Title Simple Description: Mecca and Medina are now ours, the title of Caliphate is now granted ! Triggers: in the board Outcome 1: OK (list of bonuses on the board, the Sultanate becomes a Caliphate) Persian/Shia : Shahdom Shahdom Shah Capital located in Persia Be a Monarchy +10000 manpower -7% Army Maintenance +2 Legacy Points +2 Prestiges +5% Tax Income Since there is Daimyo, there must be Shogunate, because Daimyos are vassals of Shogunate : Shogunate (Later Empire) Shogun (later Emperor) Capital : Tokyo Rank in top 20% +40000 manpower +3.5 Legacy Points +5 Prestiges +15% Tax Income +5% Stability Daimyo Daimyo Vassal of a Shogunate +1000 manpower +1 Prestiges Here, Tokugawa should be a Shogunate, and its vassals, Daimyos. 2. Tribal Kingdom will be available only for those religions: Animism, Fetishism, Totemism, etc... Tribe Chieftain Construction Cost +25% Construction Time +25% Maximum Manpower –5000 Maximum number of Loans –1 Units Attack –2 Units Defense -2 Tribal Kingdom Tribal King Rank in the top 80% An evolution of tribe, with lighted malus Construction Cost +10% Construction Time +10% Maximum Manpower –2000 Units Attack –1 Units Defense -1 3. For theocracy, There could be for every religion, but it will take too much time for me to quote all of them. Theocracy (base) Theocrat Theocracy +20000 manpower -10% Army Maintenance +4 Legacy Points +7 Prestiges +5% Tax Income +3% Subject Tribute Income +15% religion conversion +30 relations with all Shiite countries -3% agressive expansion Papacy Pope Own Rome Religion : Catholic + Theocracy +40000 manpower -5% Army Maintenance +4 Legacy Points +7 Prestiges +5% Tax Income +3% Subject Tribute Income +15% religion conversion +30 relations with all Catholic countries -5% agressive expansion Call to Crusades : 5 Imamate Imam Religion : Shia Islam + Theocracy +10000 manpower +2 Legacy Points +2 Prestiges +5% Tax Income +10% religion conversion +30 relations with all Shia countries Religious Republic will be differentiated by main country’s belief, so instead of “Theocratic republic of Iran”, there will be “Islamic Republic of Iran”. This feature won’t work for different sect, so Sunni, Shia, Ibadi will be grouped, same with another sects. Finally, make possible special civilization attributions, like Khedivate for Egypt, Archduchy for Austria, etc... That's it, the Trilogy. All correction and improvement are granted, there could be some omissions. Matvey 252 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) Amazing. If this system also supports internal customization from the community and modders, then it will be great. P.S. Comrade, you had an idea to visually work out something similar, but in relation to different political/economic/legal/religious, etc. organizations? Otherwise, having only HRE is somehow meager) Edited June 16, 2024 by Matvey Wayne23lololh and Naval

Wayne23lololh 1,645 Posted June 18, 2024 Here's what I will change for types of ideology : Make A tab dividing ideologies, without laws Ideologies should be changed only by a set of already present laws, these are "conditions" Remove the constitution thing, not everyone will understand Only the ideologies unlocked will be shown in the tab for immersion (not feudalism in 2024) qxz
