There is similar mechanic. You gain warscore as long as you hold superiority.

Warscore = Battle warscore + Ticking warscore + Occupied provinces warscore

Why not add a mechnic which makes them automatically caputiulate if ur highscore is high enough say 80 or 85 or 90% (and that value can be changed by the player/customazaible)
