From what we know, there are gonna be a lot of cities, and I think we can make it cooler by renaming the cities when a new nation conquers them, for example, Greece invades turkey and annexes izmir,I think it would feel better if the city was automatically renamed to Smyrna, or Germany invades Poland(for the millionth time in history) and annexes Szczecin, wouldn't it feel cooler if it renamed to Stettin. I believe it would make the game feel more alive and interactive then before, but I want to hear your opinion on this,if possible.thanks for reading!

Also put it so historical scenarios have historical cities name, such as

Kinshasa - Léopoldsville

Jakarta - Batavia

- Kaliningrad - Konigsberg

And so on..

Excited to see this idea being implemented!

I don't think this idea is "great" because players have possibility to change cities names to any they want at any moment. I think it would be better to add a possibility to connect cities names with ages to avoid, for example, Kaliningrad during the medieval :р

If you do this, can you also make it so that we can rename the cities to whatever we want? I know it's possible to do this in AoH2, but I've found that the changes don't stay. I think it would be best if there was a way to make an event rename things, or if there was a way when you open the province for you to rename it. I would suggest this because not every country will have every single name for every city, and this way if for example you're playing as a custom nation you still would be able to rename cities.
