yeetboi 16 Posted October 25, 2024 (edited) For scripted scenarios it would be great to add law changing as one of the event outcomes, and something that is missing from AOH2 is the ability to set percentage chance events, eg Event 1 has the outcome 1 which is to choose to quell revolt. This choice, if chosen, will have a 25% chance to trigger event "revolt quelled", 50% chance to say "revolt worsens" with debuffs, and 25% chance to say "foreign intervention" or something like that. This will make scenarios more dynamic because player cannot control the outcome of the event all the time. Additionally, I like how events now have their own variables, but integer variables should also exist. Eg event 2 which is an election creates 2 variables which will be tracked down the line, candidate1_popularity and candidate2_popularity. The player must define a max value and later events can add or lower the two variables signifying support increases or decreases for any candidate. This can not only be used to simulate interactive elections through events but also power struggles within a country's government or custom variables like a leader's patience or chance of foreign intervention (After this is finished player should be able to delete the variable so it doesnt take up space in the game). Possibly the player can hide these outcomes so the player doesnt know these variables are being changed in the background. Also, mission tree missions should take time to "develop" like the research tree eg an mission to build legacy or build something should take time, it shouldn't be instant and should only trigger after a set number of days which can be random or specified by the mission eg a political mission can take 30 days whilst a construction one can take 200. In this time you have to wait for it to finish. Hopefully this can be implemented so that scripting historical scenarios will be much better! Additionally, news events with their own sound effects and generic events for all countries eg a generic revolt event or ideology change event that can apply to all countries or specific ideologies if certain conditions are met so modders dont need to make events for all countries in a scenario. Modders should be able to add a sound effect or mp3 that plays after an event if it is an important one eg reunification or war victory that can enhance the immersion experience. All of this will make the game events much better and we need more ways to make events better!
