the idea of super expansions, winning games and a proposal for great powers.

Recommended Posts

A small comment by @Matvey.

The problem of overexpansion and absurd technological imbalance can be solved in the following way:

1. Administrative efficiency. The conditional number of provinces that the state can control without defabs on the cost of laws / advisers /technologies, etc., etc. (then events/missions/ laws/technologies that slightly increase the limit will be needed) It is also possible to make the cost of provinces in this limit uneven due to different populations and economies (it is possible to balance the building to reduce the influence of the province on the management limit)

2. The difference in technology can be corrected with two innovations. Firstly, technologies from an earlier era than the current one for the year of the game decrease in value, and from the next era they become more expensive. Secondly, countries that are close by land and sea, as well as countries with diplomatic relations, can receive a small bonus to the technologies already studied.

You said "Also, let some powers get a bonus at the beginning of the game, as they have historically been great." is a great idea. Each Era, can give bonus to the some countries.

Like in 1437-1520 Ottomans, 1520-1600 Spain and Portugal, 1600-1683 Austria, PLC, 1683-1720 Russia, 1720-1800 Britain and France, 1800-1850 Russia Ottomans and America, 1850-1900 Japan Qing Germany Italy, 1900-1930 Germany Britain France Austria, 1930-1950 US Germany Ussr Japan, 1950-1990 US Britain Ussr China, 1990-2024 US Japan China Russia Turkey

Yes, and some countries can be given bonuses in different areas at the same time: the army, technology, population and some others. Thus, each civilization will not be an empty dummy like all the others, but of different colors, but will carry a specific goal throughout the game.

You can also give out one-time bonuses up to a certain time using events. Countries will receive them randomly, or they may receive them due to the insufficient level of any buildings or technologies. For example, in the Middle Ages, a gang of bandits may appear, they get it because of insufficient security or for some other reason.

Besides, if you don't change anything for a long time, then everything will change by itself. For example, there will be an uprising that you did not expect, but it happened because you oversaw the nationalization of the provinces.

Your ships will plunder countries with a pirate political system. Because you haven't built a single ship to guard the trade route yet.

The Mongol empire has come to your soul, which has an unlimited reason for war and the whole land of which is divided into uluses, and they are all against you. Well, pray :__)

    • Campaign: Small Scenarios
In this topic, share your ideas for Campaign scenarios.

These scenarios focus on a small part of the map, with the rest designated as wasteland.

For example, a scenario of the Reconquista in 1054, where gameplay takes place only on the Iberian Peninsula.

What are your ideas for small historical scenarios?

    • Events - Common events for every civilization in the game
      Hi,
in this topic, I am interested in your ideas for events that can happen for every Civilization in the game.
I'm also interested in Missions for every Civilization.

Here is some example, have more than 10k army, have more than 5000 gold, build 10 buildings, recruit an Advisor, increase tax efficiency 20 times, be largest  producer of some resource in the world, unlock 5 Civilization legacies etc.

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
AoH3 will have different types of land units.

In this topic we will write ideas for new land units.

So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.

Representation of the battlefield in the game.

Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.

Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

Archer -> Bowmen -> Crossbowman -> Elite Crossbowman

Canon -> Field Cannon -> Artillery -> Modern Artillery

Early Airplane -> Airplane -> Modern Airplane

This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?

Or maybe an idea for a new type of unit with upgrades? I'm waiting for your suggestions.
