Armies vanish in non-allied countries

So I had this glitch before, but I chocked it up as a one-time glitch, but it happened again and it kinda messed up my campaign lol.

Steps: (I'm pretty sure this is how it happened)

1.  I invade a country (the land I'm attack is under occupation of the attacked country, who's at war with another country)
2. I take control of the land
3. the land is liberated to it's original country
4. the enemy attacks me (with a smaller force)
5. my army is completely destroyed and the province sometimes and sometimes doesn't switch

This happened several times to be before, twice during my recent campaign. Kinda annoying lol

There is workaround which consists on you declaring war on the country that had it's provinces occupied, this way the land is not liberated.

that could work but it usually would require some more effort lol, guess it would be worth it instead of losing a giant army lol
