Merchant Republic Goverment Mechanics

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello everyone, here is the my idea for Goverment mechanic for Venice. I'll try to write all Renaissance Republics, and PLC because of Sejm.

Idea:

Signoria (Council)

1. Doge

2. Minor Consiglio

3. Quarantina

Administrative Units and Effects:

1. Doge: Each Doge reduces core creation cost by 4% during their reign.

2. Minor Consiglio: Each Minor Consiglio increases tax efficiency by 4.5% during their term.

3. Quarantina: Each Quarantina reduces national unrest by 3% during their term.

How the System Works:

- Each Doge reigns for a certain period (5 years), during which the player is prompted to choose one administrative unit.

- The chosen administrative unit gains its designated effect, which persists for the duration of 5 years.

- When a new Doge is elected, the player is again given the opportunity to choose an administrative unit, and the cycle continues in this manner.

For Florence Republic Governance Units and Effects

1. Signoria (Council)

   Effect: Reduces Core Creation Cost.

Explanation: Signoria, the highest executive body of Florence, reduces core creation cost by 4.5% during its term, facilitating territorial expansion.

2. Gonfaloniere

   Effect: Increases Stability.

Explanation: Gonfaloniere, the head of Signoria, symbolizes leadership. The annual Gonfaloniere election enhances stability by strengthening by 7%.

3. Assemblea della Città

   Effect: Enhances Tax Efficiency.

Explanation: The city assembly, composed of representatives from merchant families, convenes to make significant decisions. Each city assembly term increases tax efficiency by 3%, boosting state revenues and promoting economic growth.

4. Chiesa

   Effect: Improves Diplomatic Relations.

Explanation: The church wields political and religious power in Florence. Each church term increases diplomatic relations by 5%, fostering stronger ties with other states and opportunities for alliances or trade relationships.

How the Governance Units System Works:

- Each year, a Gonfaloniere election is held, marking the beginning of a Signoria term.

- During each Signoria term, the player is prompted to choose a governance unit.

- The chosen unit gains its designated effect until the next Signoria term.

    • Campaign: Small Scenarios
In this topic, share your ideas for Campaign scenarios.

These scenarios focus on a small part of the map, with the rest designated as wasteland.

For example, a scenario of the Reconquista in 1054, where gameplay takes place only on the Iberian Peninsula.

What are your ideas for small historical scenarios?

    • Events - Common events for every civilization in the game
      Hi,
in this topic, I am interested in your ideas for events that can happen for every Civilization in the game.
I'm also interested in Missions for every Civilization.

Here is some example, have more than 10k army, have more than 5000 gold, build 10 buildings, recruit an Advisor, increase tax efficiency 20 times, be largest  producer of some resource in the world, unlock 5 Civilization legacies etc.

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
AoH3 will have different types of land units.

In this topic we will write ideas for new land units.

So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.

Representation of the battlefield in the game.

Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.

Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

Archer -> Bowmen -> Crossbowman -> Elite Crossbowman

Canon -> Field Cannon -> Artillery -> Modern Artillery

Early Airplane -> Airplane -> Modern Airplane

This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?

Or maybe an idea for a new type of unit with upgrades? I'm waiting for your suggestions.
