Age of History 3 - 5 Suggestions related to details (Case study - Romania)

Hi, I'm coming with this post here to share 5 ideas about some details-related aspects of the game

 

1. I propose adding several rivers of major importance to the map to add another level of detail to the game, often the rivers are the natural bond between certain countries. In my case, I want to suggest adding more rivers in the area of Romania because it seems to me that it would be necessary, I played a lot of AoH 2 and for Romania there were many imperfections in relation to the provinces and the placement of the cities that always irritated me visually, so that I would like to contribute as much as possible with ideas and suggestions when it comes to Romania in order to create the most accurate scenarios and improve the gameplay.

I created a map based on the picture with the scenario from 1440 with the rivers that should be added in the area of Romania

2. There are certain civilizations that are somehow the same, to be more explicit in AoH 2 if I play in a scenario where Wallachia and Moldova exist, and I play with one of them to form Romania, even after I formed Romania in the population it will appear to me that I have a Wallachian, Moldavian or Transylvanian population, when in reality it is the same population, Moldavians, Transylvanians and Wallachians are all Romanians, the only cultural difference between the 3 is the Romanian language dialect and some specific traditions, otherwise we are the same people . That's why I would very much like something to be done about the civilizations that, even if they are different state entities, speak the same language and are the same people.

3. It would be brilliant to be able to have specific advisers for each country, historical personalities, it would add greater diversity and greater accuracy of the majority of peoples.

4. Also specific technologies for most states, it would be very interesting to see, for example, a T-34 in the USSR at the Medium Tank and a Tiger I at the Heavy Tank in Nazi Germany.

5. I have not studied this aspect much, but it would be interesting to have a system of ethnic groups, for example in Hungary from the 1440 scenario, it would be interesting to be able to see an ethnic map of the respective country and see what diversity of civilizations there are in this, like the ethnic groups should be in specific areas after the course of history, also to have an assimilation function for these ethnic groups, but the assimilation process should be a longer and more expensive one.

Bonus: I know part of the community wants a Multiplayer mode for this game and I also saw the post where Łukasz Jakowski answered that he won't do multiplayer, or at least he doesn't plan to for a good while now over there. My opinion is that it would be much more beneficial in its place until the addition of a Multiplayer, a Co-Op mode, that is, one player can be the host and be able to join 3 more players on a server hosted in the LAN. I personally would like to be able to play with my friends, and I think that a possibility to create a Lan server with a maximum number of 6 players, let's say, would be the perfect solution to quench the desire for multiplayer that many have. Why did I choose LAN? , because if you use a VPN to simulate a LAN connection you can play without any problem.

By the way, I know that the part with rivers is related to map mapping, I didn't know where it would be ideal to write about it, but anyway it would be great to implement most of the rivers in the game, I can't wait for AoH3 to be released, until then all the best and Good luck with that !

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
      AoH3 will have different types of land units.

      In this topic we will write ideas for new land units. 

       

      So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.


      Representation of the battlefield in the game.


      Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

      Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.


       

      Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

       

      Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

      Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

      Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

      Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

      This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?
