This has happened in many strategy games I've played. More often this happened on phones due to lack of elaboration.
It's terrible when
Switzerland = Third Reich.
Mongol Empire = Moscow Principality.

Yes, maybe the troops are not similar. Some have cavalry, some have more advanced units of troops, but the countries are equal to each other, which means that if you switch to the Third Reich or Turkey it will be approximately the same in complexity.
I already see memes about how the Kree or Blackfoot have taken over the whole world.

If I remember correctly there are Communist/Fascist/Democratic ai types in the game ideologies, and ideologies themselves can be buffed/nerfed. I think Lukasz said he will add national focuses (?), a nation can also be manipulated through leader buffs/debuffs

Łukasz could make it so that according to the historical performance of the army of a nation it should have similar buffs/nerfs. Take the Soviet union under Stalin as an example. It hardly could take on Finland and faced heavy casualties.

Да, возможно, войска не похожи. У некоторых есть кавалерия, у некоторых более продвинутые подразделения войск, но страны равны друг другу, а это значит, что если вы переключитесь на Третий рейх или Турцию, то это будет примерно одинаково по сложности.
