Military mutiny.

General description: mutiny represents the loss of control over part of the already called up troops, which are under the leadership of one or another disloyal general. Mutiny most often occurs during a war with another state. But it can also happen in peacetime with a small probability.

Goal: if successful, the general either heads the state or changes the state's policy. For example, the goal of mutiny is to end the war that the state is currently in. And if the general wins in mutiny, the state automatically signs a peace treaty with the state with which it has been at war for a long time, and on unfavorable terms. Also, if mutiny occurs in a democratic country, then if the general wins and becomes ruler, the state will most likely become a dictatorship, and parliament will cease to exist. Or at least some political party disappears in parliament. Conventionally: the general hates communists and if he wins, the communist party is banned.

Defeat: in case of mutiny defeat, the general has a 30% chance (for example) of dying during the battle. If he survives, he has a 10% chance of escaping. In this case, he becomes a general of another state. But with a 90% chance the general will be captured. The player is given the choice to either execute the general (if the death penalty is prohibited in a democratic country, then this option will not even be given), or release and the general will again become an ordinary general of the troops, but now the chance of mutiny from this general will be 2-3 times higher, or you can leave him in prison (put off his future for later).

Characteristics of any general that affect the mutiny event: each general has his own political orientation. It is obvious that the generals will display political trends that they hate. Loyalty scale. The probability of mutiny largely depends on it. The loyalty scale goes from 0 to 100. Most of them are distributed randomly. But many points are given for certain characteristics. Such characteristics include: religion (compliance with the religion of the state and the general), political views. And others. It is worth noting that the loyalty scale may change. For example, if there is a long war where the country is losing or does not have significant victories, then the scale will fall. If the ruler himself is not popular, then the scale will also fall. If in general the population is very tired of the war. It is logical that everything can go in the opposite direction, towards improving the scale.

Popularity scale. Thanks to her, the army under the leadership of such a general is more or less combat-ready. The more popular the general, the cooler the army, but if the general is not loyal and starts a mutiny, then due to his great popularity, most of the army he leads will be on his side. In addition, the armies of other generals not directly controlled will join the rebellion. Also, under the leadership of the first, other generals themselves can join.

What is the point? The player will have a choice between a good general, but who is less loyal, or a bad general, but loyal. Of course, there will be other generals, as well as the most bad generals with minimal loyalty, and the most good and loyal generals. There will also be average ones, in the center, not super loyal and not super effective.

What should a general do to win a mutiny? Maybe for this you need to capture the capital. Or it can capture high-quality provinces. There is still some thinking to be done here.

It would be nice if sometimes we have to chose bad genreal (and also we need bad rulers with only flaws. There have also been rulers in history who were very bad and have ruined their countries):

• if we are at war for a long time and some generals is already dead, weaker generals should start to appear. For example +1 to attack and 0 to defense. I think it makes sense that the longer a war goes on, the more competent people die and the more incompetent people remain
• once in the while a very terrible ruler should appear (in a monarchy there should be very good and very poor rulers more often and in a democracy, every ruler should be average more often - congratulations if you know any great democratic rulers, but I bet you know a lot of great monarchs and a lot of terrible monarchs). For example ruler with: -3% birth rate, -5% economy, + 4 rebelion chance, - 1% of prestige
