plus maybe he could slowly perma assign cultures to countries slowly using scenarios, an example would be:

assigning culture to modern civs then locking that as their culture

assigning culture to 1440 civs then locking that as their culture

just like religions, not all civs will have assigned culture, and culture can be assigned by the player

based.

I dont know if it is complicated or not, but adding cultures for provinces, and countries would automatically assign with the most present culture in the capital.

Germany's group is German cause Berlin is a German city.

I agree, Wayne did perhaps over do it which is not bad but will take ages to implement. So what about the culture mechanic being more simpler like religion?

How do you find my name 😰

Seriously, I think I you're right, maybe I did too much. Do you think that what I proposed above is hard, I need your thought.

Haha!

Yeah I do believe it is somewhat hard to implement a system similar to yours (which is similar to CK3) if it includes calculations that come with it. I mostly believe it is just time consuming to do, cultures could either be grouped into Slavic/Germanic/Celtic/... or into something more complex like unique cultures to each civilizations. Second method still is time consuming, personally I would prefer the first method.

Hello Lucasz, maybe you could, make the game completely user-customisable, just as you did with AoHII and realease only 2 scenarios, the modern world and 1440. And leave the rest to the community, (steam workshop) to make the rest of the scenarios and to assign all these cultures, we are just asking to make this available as a mechanic only, not to assign them all by yourself, give yourself a break! My point is, that its a waste of time to try to make all of these scenarios, when you could just ask for help, from the people whom all of them support you!

PS. In all honesty, the only scenarios that were used extensively (in AOHII) were the modern world, the 1440, and the scenario creator. So maybe its kinda unececary to do all of this work for almost nothing!

The idea is to set when we create a scenario cultures, and then select the majority in each countries in the scenario. It could decide which AI pictures should civilizations must have (not each cultures but groups like Germanic).

We can use a sort of the claimants feature for formable nations, select several countries at once with the same culture (select all Germans countries in 1444 for the same culture).

So cultures would intervened only when we create scenarios, when we need them, and there don't need to put to all 2467 civilizations with files.

yeah i guessed that was the reason

you don't have to assign all the cultures to the civs automatically, maybe cultures could be added in the scenario editor to the civilizations, this would fix your issue AND would appease the fanbase, plus maybe you could do that slowly with each update rollout until all of them are done (this would be very hard)

@Łukasz Jakowski thoughts? making the player assign the culture while making the scenario would solve the issue and nobody would complain since that adds way more versatility anyways

a very good solution (just a bit tiring for lukasz :P)

Also, Democracies would be less likely to assimilate other cultures than Monarchies, and Fascism (plus National Socialism).

that SUCKED and made zero sense, as egypt (republic) i needed to assimilate millions becasue the country before me was egypt (monarchy)

How that sucked ? Do you think that modern democracies would try to convert minority culture, and why a monarchic country that become democratic must assimilate their people, because when a monarchic country becomes democratic, it's often by their people. It's just the population happiness.

And I said less likely, that doesn't mean that democracy cant. AI would less likely to do it

Treating an ideology change as an entirely different ethnic group when it's not the case is kinda weird

It's easy, you can have players and mod authors do this.
You just need to make it so the player can set them up.
If you don't set them, a nation is automatically generated with a more national name.
For example, if you set it then we get the mainstream population of the United Kingdom as English, but if you don't set it then we get United Kingdom people, just like in the current game.
If the player has not set it, then by default the population of all plots is the dominant culture population of the controller. If the player modifies these then this changes.
You just need to set the dominant culture of some of the nations in some of the scripts and let the mod authors refine more of the nations and detailed scripts themselves.
