Here's another sneak peek at the Third Great War scenario, now at the end of the event chain in 2045. This is what happens to the Elvonin Reich after its victory in the war, three of these countries will be able to reunify Elvon again.

There will be a similar post-victory collapse for Frosthaven, and maybe for others in later versions.

Not much to report now, still developing Third Great War scenario and some others. Alpha 1.2 should be released on 12 March if nothing else delays its release.

Alpha 1.2 Released!

After 2 months of development following Alpha 1.1, the Alpha 1.2 version of WotEC is out!

Download (PC) - Download here!
(169 MB compressed, 191 MB uncompressed)
Download (Android) - Download here!

New features in Alpha 1.2:

  • 4 new scenarios (2 canon, 1 non-canon, 1 deathmatch):
    • Third Great War 1.0a: The Last Calm - the first event-featured WotEC scenario, with a full base event tree for the Elvonin Reich, Frosthaven and Nordriket, and partial trees for Elvonin Democratic Republic, Ravenfield and the Planum.
    • Industrial Age (1836): another canon scenario, set at the height of the Industrial Revolution.
    • Veunorian Dawn (1184, not canon): what if Veunoria rose beyond Veunor Caldurus' dream, like way beyond?
    • Coastal vs Inland Areas (definitely not canon): Varin Balan (with sea and lake coastal provinces) vs Ralijitia (with land provinces), who will win in this impossible scenario?
  • 1 new continent: Yaanthenia, now in its full glory and not just an island chain, with an overhauled lore, and 211 new provinces
  • 112 new civilizations and 35 new formable civilizations
  • Minor code changes: fixed casualty number visualization, and other insignificant changes
  • 1 new government (Socialism)
  • 6 new leaders (special bonuses)

Well I'll be damned, he did it! I asked if it would be on android a little under a year ago and was given a "maybe"; didn't fully get my hopes up, as is often the case with other mods, but the mad lad actually delivered. So often we get these mod ideas that promise so much only to wind up dying before reaching a year of development. This mod deserves a lot more attention and praise for its refreshing innovations compared to all the other generic mods we see all the time making the same changes in scenarios - this is one of the few guys breaking that trend and doing it goddamn perfectly. Cheers man, fucking cheers.

Alpha 1.3 Released!

Alpha 1.3 is a somewhat smaller update than Alpha 1.2, I wasn't able to get the Third Great War overhaul due to IRL stuff, the overhaul will come in Alpha 1.3.1.

    • Veunorian Dawn (1184, not canon): what if Veunoria didn't fall in 752 CE?
    • The New Century (2018, not canon): what if we ran the course of history from 1918... again?
    • Age of Legends (3000 BCE): new civilizations are rising across the world, the Bronze Age is in full swing, and the base for the empires to follow for thousands of years is being placed right now.
    • Caranese Unification Wars (810 CE): the Caranese Civil War between Volyar Amarila, the Senate and other warlords for control of Qar'aan, and the formation of the Empire of Qar'aan.
    • End of the Third Great War (2050 CE): the world after the Third Great War, and its consequences to Dacanium and the rest of the world

I like the new android update because it's less laggy than the previous version but no audio. As for the pc version, how can i update it? Do i have to remove the old files then replace it with the new update?

You can overwrite the previous version's files, the warning about not overwriting was to keep the new provinces from potentially damaging saves. Aside from broken timeline and the new provinces creating (colonizable) gaps, the new provinces don't damage the save.

This is the result of changing one line of code in AI_Style.java related to plundering (so it doesn't plunder anymore unless the AI has no money). The AI now does more in a naval invasion than just stay in one province plundering everything. Also it makes warfare much more dynamic when the AI actually uses movement points to move troops.
