I added a special jar file to the first post that allows you to add only cities to the map.
Here's how it works:

How to add city:
MapEditor_2_Cities.jar should be in the same folders as MapEditor_2.jar

# Step 1:
Just copy any text.
Ctrl + C

# Step 2:
Click on the map in MapEditor_2_Cities to set the location of the city.

# Step 3:
Enter!

please add a way to remove cities.

im tired of restarting the map editor because of some nasty city misplacement.

Edit the text file for cities, the most recently added city will be at the end of the file

i mean, that's what i've been doing.

what im asking for is a keybind in the jar file that allows you to remove a city, so i don't have to restart it for the afromentioned reasons.

yes or you can try rendering the entire image without tiles by naming the whole image 0_0.png then setting both x and y to 1 if it doesn't load your image is to large

yeah i dont think that would work unfortunately for the scale this map is at i will just divide map using your GIMP tutorial 👍

each tile have a size of 3600 x 2700

So the full map is 43200 x 21600? Maybe it's too big.

Try to remove some rows and columns, update BackgroundSize X and Y in the config.json and check if the editor opens. For example, remove column y_11, then row 8_x, etc.

Also map editor can't handle anything above 30,000 pixel width for some reason or upper 20,000

ah right, well I guess I will have to figure something else out then, thanks for telling me 👍

say i had a 25k wide map, would that work?

You can upscale the map in the game in two ways.(One new)

The map background doesn't need to be that huge.

Use 18k pixels width map.

Official map for AoH3:

17760 px width

8600px height

It depends on the PC that you have, not the map editor

It also depends on PC how big image size(width-height) can be loaded.
