How to create map (Step by step)

Steps:
1. Download Map editor.
2. Clear all data.
3. Copy/Create bg.png (background for your map)
4. Create province.
5. Copy first province into new folder (Province is called PROV, and move it into folder that will be containing all provinces)
6. Rename your first province to 0 (second to 1 etcetera)
7. In game map folder (steamapps\common\Age of Civilizations II\map) copy template (and rename it), and clear "cities" folder.
8. Copy your provinces into update, \data\provinces (I'm not sure if you need to copy it into provinces folder, but It works too :P)
9. Edit config.json(in copied template folder) and change values:

10. Rembmer to create background files with name %bgname%_L and %bgname%_R
11. go back to map folders and add line to make game read that map:

            Folder: "Earth_AoC1"
        },
        {
            Folder: "Kepler"
        },
        {
            Folder: "template"
        },
        {
            Folder: "%mapname%"

    Age_of_Civilizations: Maps
}

12. Run game and go to Editor>MapEditor>EditConnections and Provinces>Update every province you added. (EXAMPLE)
13. Congratulation you have created your first map 😛
Short video, if you still need help. (OS is in polish, rest is in english 😛 )

If you add new province check continent of this province in map editor, if it is "Ocean" the map will load lower scale of the province background
 

 

Extra: 

 

CREATING PROV FILES:

 

1. If you haven't saved your PROV files, no worries! you can bring them back 😛 , but it might take time here is how:
2. Open mapAoC2_v2.txt and search for line ID*2+1 (If you have id of missing province 100, search for line 201), this line, and line below are the lines that you need to recreate PROV file:

3. Copy them into file called ID (make sure that it isn't .txt file, because that might crash your game)
4. place after last number in first line semicolon - ;, and delete space between them.
4.1 - Before:
2020,2040,2055,2034
5000,2000,3000,4000
4.2 - After:
2020,2040,2055,2034;5000,2000,3000,4000
5. Congratulation's you have recreated your PROV file 😛

Have you deleted: scales/provinces folders? or any folders?

What actualy you started doing on 4:15? I can't get, it is important or not?

And yeah, game is crashed tbh. I did every little thing like on video.

also, I've changed name because indexing  is from 0 not 1 😛

man I have another problem provinces in editor is in the continent but in the game is not

Go to Editor -> Map Editor -> Map -> Continents Editor

These provinces are "Ocean" type, change them to anything else

 

And reload map
